It's a shame this games playerbase shrunk to almost zero.
While not as good as World of Tanks it was still quite a good competitor.
I recentely revisited the game and while I had fun it unfortunately felt like a dead game

it was much better than world of tanks because you could progress while having fun which is the complete opposite of wot where you have to suffer through 8~9 tiers of garbage tin cans to finally be able to play good vehicles.

the only thing that killed this game was pve.
pve made pvp completely useless for progression. in pve you can solo carry your team and make 10 times more reliable exp in a match while in pvp you are often 1 v 29 and end up losing with more exp than most players in the winning team. the problem is that it trivializes the whole process of progessing and then you just end up leaving the game because it's not fun anymore.

and that's the whole issue with armored warfare, they give you the choice of easy almost guaranteed progression vs actual gameplay that requires somewhat a decent bit of skill but doesn't reward you nearly as much. most people will just chose to progress without the headache of having to play with 14 unreliable players even if it kills their interest in the game in the long run. and voila, game is dead has a direct result of this.
