I'm an older gamer as well and I loathe twitch fest titles. I purchased a Kickstarter pack for setting up a guild. Accordingly, if any of you old-timers are interested in joining me in establishing a community please let me know.
My experience is that it really varies by class. I’ve found a few that I can just AoE attack or heal with and spam left mouse button. The hit boxes are very forgiving (or were when I last played) and while my twitch skills are poor bad... I can still do OK. CF is really a weird mashup of concepts and styles so it will be interesting to see how it looks at launch.

Even though i am old i am not afraid of anything speedy,i still have great reflexes but i would not be in the least interested in a pretend rpg that is really just a weak pvp game.
If i saw a good reason and a well designed pvp game,i would play it no problem, idc about my age at all, however this game is NOT the game.
I do rather prefer a relaxed atmosphere when playing a mmorpg, not into the flash n the pan, arpg junk,i actually detest spammy combat.
As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about.
As this game does not "lock on" ie tab target if you simply jump around spamming skills, you will lose as your skills will miss, and the person that takes their time and launches skills that hit will decimate you.
There is no "pretend RPG" at all. This game says it straight out front, if you like PvP this game may appeal to you. The crafting system is deep and well thought out (although at this point not fully implemented) yet still reliant on PvP to acquire the best materials. Again, PvP focus.
The atmosphere is competitive, it's a PvP game, so you have all that, however, while you will see a spat here and there most take it for what it is; a game. I have not seen much hate being thrown around. Comparing it to Planetside 2 (apples and oranges I know, but just speaking to the community) I see far less whining, crying, and smack talk in CF than I do PS2. Live may change that. Sadly.
It may not be the game for you, I for one, hope not. Having said that, I do not want your ill-informed, not based on fact or experience, opinion to impact someone else that may be on the fence about that game.
As far as flash in the pan ARPG...yeah that has been around for years and will be here for years to come.
Yes - there is constant movement however the only attack you can really spam (don't quote me on this after 6.2 goes live) is your basic and even that you need to time if you want to use a skill. Even people that have issues targeting can have fun and help their team in big fights if they want to. You do not need to be a sniper to land significant hits.
The point being if you can jump into the BETA for free and give it a run, you may have fun, if not you've lost nothing but some time. Today, I do not feel it is worth buying into, but that is just my opinion.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
Constant movement, constant ability spam with what appears to be a 1/2 second cooldown. To see it really get frantic, jump forward in the video a bit to the melee combat. I'll be honest guys, most modern MMO combat just isn't for me. I'm too old and slow. MMOs have left me behind! Anyone else in the same boat?
It looked like all he was doing was spamming 1 to kill a unsuspecting miner char. I'm also getting older (30+ years old), but it isn't becoming a hassle to press keys on my keyboard. I would recommend you try console gaming if you're having trouble stretching your hands or differentiating more than 4 buttons.
Same, I'm in my 30s also and I'm not having issues pressing buttons on my keyboard lol but I guess older people have issues we aren't aware of yet.
Maybe once we hit our 50s and 60s the keyboard will be obsolete and we will have something new to complain about? I hope gaming by that point is a full out of body experience. Like literally you attach a sticker to your head and you turn into the avatar.
