Is it safe to buy this unfinished/unpolished game now...or are there even more bugs to be fixed yet?
The game is good man, yes there are bugs but its nothing thats game breaking. For example there was one mini boss that was rubberbanding in the beginning but was still killable. Some mobs hitboxs werent registering with autoattacks but could still be killed from skills, small shit like that. Its 95% playable i would say.

From what I understand, there are still a ton of bugs. Maybe not for everyone, but many people are still experiencing progression bugs among other things. I'm looking forward to playing one day, but I'm holding off till they get their sh@t together for good....

I would say no. Unless you're really hard up for a new game...
I have experienced too many bugs. After the story, which I had minimal bugs in, but still a few, the end game turned out to be kinda fun, if it weren't for the bugs.
I have issues where I can't finish expeditions, either because the game randomly disconnects, or sometimes a boss will hit me into a part of the map where I can't get out, and you can't teleport, or use a /stuck command.
A lot of people have those kinds of issues. I have probably somewhere around 50 hours into it at this point, for everything they do right, they leave me with a lot of frustration, which counteracts it.
Plus, a lot of people are complaining about the end game builds, which right now only has a few viable ones, most of them Melee, if you want to get through content quick enough.
In addition to my melee character I created a ranged caster to see if I could figure out other viable options, it's pretty tough to compete without completely cheesing some fights.
If I could go back and return the game, I would, until it dropped in price. It would be worth a 20 in this condition, not 40. There are worse games you could spend that money on, sure, but there are better games, like POE, that are in a much better position.
Played through the storyline and thought it was fun, I really liked the story and will be playing the next two acts when they come out to see what happens that said the game as is right now is worth 20 buck IMO.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
the difficulty is the main issue, the game is entirely too easy. can kill mobs 20 to 30 levels of you no matter how badly you build. I refreshed all skills and attributes, left them at 0, and it took no effort to clear expeditions 20 levels higher than me. it's a good time killer but theres literally no challenge to this game.
Is it safe to buy this unfinished/unpolished game now...or are there even more bugs to be fixed yet?
There are many bugs, occasional crashes, the game is horribly unbalanced. Basically, it's in open beta now.
If you're fine with testing a full-priced game for them, then give it a try. Personally, I moved on. Perhaps I will try it again in future - but not in this state.
I have sunk ~50 hours into the game, done the three acts both offline and online, and my online char is about lvl 60 and well into the Champion part of the game, which adds some new spins on the gear grind, though it does seem to boil down pretty much being an rather round about way to get loot modifiers and tr.
Havent seen any game breaking bugs. Lots of little things, but nothing that detracts in a serious way from what is absolutely an amazing ARPG.
They manged to find the line og making it complex enough to be interesting, and yet simple enough adn giving you enough information in the UI for you not having to wiki the shit out of the game to make a viable build. Yeah, I am looking at you PoE.

Seems you stumbled onto a power build.
The two chars I have played, Gunslinger and Toxin Wizard both seemed to be fairly well balanced.

He was probably playing pre-nerfed Bleeding Edge with the broken shield node. Game is not too easy.
I purposely avoided any of the overly obviously broken skills to avoid being thoroughly gutted when they were nerfed. I mean come on you have to know they would be fixed. Besides what challenge is there when you are just destroying everything with no effort.
Players continuously show that they all go for the path of least resistance while trying to tout their incredible prowess at beating the game at higher difficulty while they are using these broken builds. They know it is broken too because every discussion says to use it 'before it is nerfed'.

How were you doing this? I don’t see this as possible. You would have to not get hit once or you’re dead. You’re either lying or grossly exaggerating. I have 26k hp and certain level 55 bosses can kill me in one move. That’s one level below me.
Been playing since early access and still recommend the game for anyone love ARPG. The only negative i find so far is the end game pretty stale and boring. I have reach highest tier challenge and it just repetitive. Gear proGression is diverse but yea..hope they add more content. Otherwise, it’s quite boring similar to Diablo 3 Greater Rift
I don't see the appeal of this game. I was mainly interested in the single player content and that was too short and mediocre.
You mean he 3 Act story tutorial?
Every ARPG is like that. You don't play them for the story. They're loot grinders and the story is mediocre in all of them compared to full-fledged RPGs. And all of those stories are pretty short at release and then continued in the expansions.
When compared to other ARPGs I'd say Wolcen's story holds its own and then some. But the meat of the game is always at end game just like it is for all other games of this genre.
And BTW, it's all single player content.

It's possible.... he still had gear... and gear can be pretty strong... but yeah being able to kill and being able to kill efficiently and consistently are two different things. You could probably kite an enemy or mob for a long time and eventually kill something.
Especially at the higher levels, boss affixes can down you fast, and in some cases it's nearly impossible to dodge them all.

There will be more bugs to be fixed and more skills and passive nodes to be balanced for months if not years.
Most of the egregious bugs that were loudly highlighted during these first couple of weeks are gone. IMO it's very playable right now but it totally depends on your level of tolerance for annoying little glitches (small bats with a wonky hit box that can't be targeted, pathing issues that can get you stuck sometimes or put mobs inside walls, the odd CTD here and there, etc.) I can play it for several hours without seeing a bug and I've gotten multiple characters into the end-game... YMMV.

Branded Burst in the green Exorcist tree gives you up to 5 "tenet" points while not being hit and each point mitigates 20% of the damage. Each time you get hit you lose one point and you regen one every 2.5s. At 5 points you're invulnerable to being one shot... don't leave home without it
BTW, Wolcen Universe is the current website for builds or to explore the passives offline. It's a bit slow at the moment but it's starting to look pretty good: https://wolcen-universe.com/

I keep hearing it but it has yet to happen.
I have not had the game crash since I tried to log into the Online Mode when released. No other game breaking bugs or game crashes in offline or when they finally patched Online Mode.
I am still trying to figure out the mechanics like ailment and trying to watch videos and read stuff explaining builds. I think that not enough information is available and I understand that this game needs time to mature.
I am not playing at higher levels I am proceeding very slowly because I keep trying different set ups. As a result all my money is used up and I lose the the purple currency levelling new skills and resetting the tree so I don't get far. I am poor ARPG player because I don't rush to the end and try the game on harder difficulty. I totally fail at the ARPG methodology. I bow my head in shame.
I am however thoroughly enjoying myself and I got so into Wolcen I brushed off my Demon Hunter in D3 too and it got some play time too. I also went back and played Grim Dawn, so I am currently in an ARPG nirvana of sorts.
