Yeah this game has been delayed by MUCH, I'm hopeful but realistic that it won't be what I was hoping for. Not boarding the hype train any time soon with MMO's, especially Ashes of Creation.
After that failed Apocalypse launch (dear god why did they even bother) who knows how good the MMO will be.
I am pretty sure she wasn't supposed to blurt out the "still in early development stage".
If he has to ask the community about scaling, then he doesn't know what he is doing with a rpg.Scaling is an atrocious idea, even the defunct SOE learned from their mistake being perhaps the first to ever try scaling.I can't help but wonder wtf is going on,is there no direction for this game, why are they even talking about scaling or no scaling, don't they have a design to follow already,is this like day 1 of planning now?
They said BR was for testing only, well where are the results?
This is typical of crowd funded KS,r type games,no direction, just a messy operation, just winging it as they go.They had this ONE gimmick idea and decided to make a game around it,the node idea, not really a well organized studio.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Noticing his mannerism and her behavior toward him in the video they could possibly be on the same team if you know what I mean.
About the video though... seems like another one with devs not showing any progress with gameplay video just more promises of stuff they "can't wait to show" us in the future. How many years has this game been in development supposedly with "the best devs in the industry"?
Seems like when the heat starts to turn up for whatever reason they release a stream filled with just empty words and no substance.

Least we forget, the originally promised target release date was the end of 2019 yet their lack of discernable progress likely means several more years at least before it launches.
They do a good job trying to scrub the internet, but there are still a few sites with the original schedule.

While there is no excuse for being this late on their development, the CEO and Creative Director just recently spoke on Discord about the reasons for the delays, and he basically took the ownership of it all.
He stated that the hiring schedule was severely overestimated [and he has previously acknowledge he was being too picky in who he hired]
Their architecture had to be reproached.
With the big one being he didn't hire producers until late 2018 because as a new developer he had heard about the issues that producers sometimes causes and he figured he could add the "producer" responsibilities to his team leads and that would work out in the end. It didn't, and he owned it.
He brought in several Producers including Babletr0n from the Blade and Soul team to start fixing things, and you can clearly see the improvement from late 2018 to early 2019 to late 2019 and now.
Again, not saying its an excuse, because they blew their launch date and that is inexcusable, and they aren't even ready to go into Alpha 1 nearly a year later, but at least he was willing to open up about the reasons.

Great that he is taking ownership of past mistakes, though would be better if shared in interviews with MOP and MMORPG as it's the readers there which called him out back during the KSer.
Overly aggressive hiring schedule, yep, the armchair devs called it, with CU and others making similar misjudgments. (A very common mistake by most new software leads)
Architecture "reproached", uhh just like CU, CF, SC, and COE (2 or 3 times), who couldn't see that as a significant risk / possibility?
A good project manager would have, which in effect is the less fancy way to say "Producer."
Dev leads often have no respect for nor want the oversight by PMs who try to hold them accountable to milestones and dates.
A common mistake thinking project management is a task "everyone" can do rather than a valuable member of every good team/project.
Now, repentance is great and all, but now for the next step, time to come clean and publish a new milestone schedule of work remaining, estimated completion dates and .... a target release date.
I mean one of the smaller indie efforts, SoL has managed to do so, why not this bigger one?
