I hate to say that the way things were panning out that I did foresee this. Vanilla MS probably costs less to run and maintain then MS2 and I never forgave nexon for dropping DFO after wondering why they weren't making any cash on a game that hadn't had a decent event or big update in months.
This really doesn't surprise me. The original game retained audiences because of how difficult it was to level and how many different things there were to grind out. In this it was the opposite. Nothing to retain people really.
Played it at the release month and it was a mixed bag for me. I liked the game, it was quite charming but as someone who hates daylies with a passion it was hard for me to keep on playing when every day about 90% of the stuff I did was daylies :-/
Still as Grimula and Narug both agreed it's always sad when a MMO gets shut down.
I've only played it for short, wasn't really my style, just explored its music system. It was nice, with lots of instruments and a fairly easy editor.
The overall tone of the game was also nice and cheerful. Not to mention I too remember, like some said above, it was stuffed (last year) with people. I wonder, what is behind the shutdown, player count or monetization?
Played this game quite a bit. The game eventually burned me out with all the damn dailies. I hated logging in to do all those ship dailies, pet dailies, etc. Almost everything you did in this game was forced and if you fell behind even one week it made you feel defeated.
Really disappointing for me. Graphics wise, housing, etc, this game was what I was looking for.
Covid barely kills anymore people than the normal flu does. It sure as hell wasn't the problem with this subpar game.
Actually statistics are still being generated on this one, being new a new form of coronavirus. We won't know until we hit the point where a vaccine is in place, then the rates from that point on will drop.
And the good ones they have left that are in dire needs of updates, don't get the update.

Always sad when Any MMO gets shut down
Why do you think they're closing it?
W* lasted longer.
RIP MS2, I burnt out playing the beta. Lol.
Pc controls were awful on keyboard and there was too much restricted gameplay.
