Playing Vampyr these days. Strangely fitting as a possible worst-case scenario plague setting, and the protagonist is a vampire surgeon with access to bone saws. Oh did you mean multiplayer games?

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

I would say Ring Fit Adventure or any game where you get some exercise. Family games like the wii sports etc...

I am assuming people are at home with their families.

Daily exercise is key to maintaining not only physical health but mental health in time of crisis, and with families stuck together for weeks - mental health is the biggest challenge - especially after several weeks.

    Just my 2c

If you dont have easy access to parks (gyms are a no-no) - family exercise type games are the best now.
Imagine not having a home gym lol
I do a day push-ups, next chin-ups and rest. Chin-ups might be tough unless you have a sturdy bar you can use, but push-ups, sit-ups and other workouts can be done easily with no equipment.
Don't forgot to do your squat thrusts....(gah I hated those in PE class)

Italy has been crazy, with a 5% fatality rate, where 1 out of every 20 people who got COVID-19 have died, that is the second highest fatality rate in the world (First being the Philippians).

I wager it's a nightmare over there. Stay safe!
To clarify, fatality (or death) rates fluctuate based on number of people tested, generally going down as more are tested.   Two weeks ago the US was at 6.9%, now it is far less.

Also, fatality rates are not predictors of the risk of dying (mortality rate) from the disease.

"The death rate of a disease is different from its mortality rate, which is the number of deaths out of the number of people in an at-risk population. A death rate is not a reflection of the likelihood that a given person will die.

According to Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, COVID-19's mortality rate is probably around 1%, which is still about 10 times the flu's."

"It only affects the elderly and boomers".... woops turns out to affects everyone, look how many 20 year olds are in ICU on ventilators.

I mean this is exactly what happens when masses spread total bullshit and then believe their own bullshit as truth.

Also the latest data shows that those who have been in critical condition even after recovery from covid-19 continue to have respirstory issues due to lung tissue damage.

So it's a gift that keeps on giving.

Look at how many? How many? What percentage? Yes....you do have to be careful with what you are spreading. Implying 20 year-olds are making up a substantial number of those requiring critical care is going to cause panic. Take this seriously, but the fact is older people are the ones who are most affected. The chances you will become critically ill or die as a young healthy person are very slim....BUT you need to take the same precautions as to stop it spreading and killing the vulnerable. No other message needs to be passed.

    Here

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/18/health/coronavirus-young-people.html

    "

Younger Adults Make Up Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.

New C.D.C. data showed that nearly 40 percent of patients sick enough to be hospitalized were aged 20 to 54. But the risk of dying was significantly higher in older people"

That is what I am saying - younger people are also getting hospitalized with critical conditions in US.

Sure elderly with underlying conditions are at highest risk of death, but this whole nonsense being spread around how younger people are immune to it is total horseshit

Also after these folks recover they are not back to 100% health - every critical case has longterm respiratory issues that linger on

Bottom line- younger people are getting seriously ill and even after release from the hospital are not back to normal - shortness of breath, cough, decreased lung capacity can linger for months and years depending on how severely lung tissue was damaged

Hospitalized and critically ill requiring a vent are two very different things. You were very specific in stating 20 year olds on vents. I agree, anyone passing on info that young people should not take this seriously is an idiot.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-death-rate-by-country-current-fatalities-compared-to-cases-2020-3

What I said has nothing to do with the global fatality of the disease itself. It was that in Italy, 5% of the people that contracted this virus have died, that is some Apocalypse level scary shit going on in Italy right now. That is higher than China, which is at roughly 3.8% and going down.

So, if you live in Italy, right now, this is something to be really worried about.

If you lived in say Norway, where out of a 1000± cases, they have had 1 death so far, which gives them a 0.1% fatality rate, I am sure COVID-19, is more a joke then a worry.

What is going on in the rest of the world has no bearing on the panic that is going on in Italy right now. To give you an ideas, In Italy, today 3/19/2020, there are 31,506 Total Cases, with 3,526 new cases just confirmed as of yesterday. A Total of 2,503 deaths, and 345 people died from this since yesterday... I stand corrected.. it's now at 7.9% fatality in Italy.

To get an idea of the panic level insanity that is going on in Italy right now, in one day they have more new cases of COVID-19, then America has total.

I get that is not indicative of the rest of the  world, but it does not change what is going on there, and my wishing anyone living in Italy my support and care, and take every measure they can to be safe.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.

I know right?  My wife will say, the pool needs cleaning, or time to rake up the leaves in the yard and I can say, "oh no dear, didn't you see on the news, we are supposed to hunker down and stay in doors."  :D

I mean, what if one of the neighbors saw me out there and came over to talk to me?

Might have to whack them with the rake or something to keep them back.

I wonder how long before peoples patience is tested though? This is an unprecedented situation with so many people indoors. But it has parallels because humans behave in a similar way even if the events are very different. Around 2008 we were told we needed a period of financial austerity, we could see why and people accepted it. No more than four years later people were talking about being fed up of austerity. With this people will get fed up far more quickly, what will they do then?

On a side note it does occur to me that if not enough people get the virus, when they say its fine to go out again it may just start up again. The idea is that if the new cases each day drops to zero it has gone. Well tell that to all the other types of flu, they don't just go away.
