Sony has announced a PS5 event for June 4 at 1p PDT / 4p EDT where they'll look at the "future of gaming."

    It seems like the PS5 will be more expensive than the Xbox X which si not a good selling point.
    It also seems the XboxX will be a superior machine "for the most part"although the PS5 will have a faster but smaller SSD.So PS5 games should load faster but after that loading time i feel like the XoboX has the potential to make better overall games.

    It still comes down to the games and this is why i stopped buying consoles.I do not warrant buying a console for 1-2 games that are exclusive to the PS5.With a PC you likely have access to ALL the games or 95% of them from both PS5 and the Xbox but not likely the Switch.However once these two bad boys come out,the Switch likely goes into a hibernation period collecting dust.

    Not only does it come down to the games,it comes down to the developer to make games that warrant a new console.If a game developer is going to do a LAZY job of development,take a crappy 150 frame per second game and end up a crappy 30 frame per second game ,there is no win win here,it is then a lose lose.

    I STRUGGLE to find HQ games right now,the best i ever hope for is something that i least want to play.Point being i do not expect more than maybe 1-2 really good games that would warrant a new console.It would be like having an old 428 cobra jet motor sitting in the garage but no car to put it in.

    I’m going to reflexively buy this and the new Xbox and probably never play a single game on them because I can’t use controllers for the life of me...

    Well... maybe a sports game.

    I'm really curious what it looks like. I really think the Xbox X tower looks abhorrent and hope that the PS5 will look much smoother. Yeah I know its not about what a console looks like its about the games but still I want to know.

    As for the games I will likely get a PS5 anyway as Xbox is no option as I'm a big fan of JRPG's and many of Xbox games just don't do it for me.

    Looks matter. I mean, that huge vertical tower is going to be a hard fit for a standard entertainment center. If the Playstation's design is anything resembling traditional, it will win in that regard.

    And I agree. The XBox's game selection has historically been pretty poor, especially for RPGs and JRPGs. And when they do have RPGs, they tend to be lame shit like Fable.

    For me it is all about the JRPGs so Playstation is my pick always.

    That's something I would do. Oh wait, I did, in the Playstation 2.

    luckily, playing Breath of the Wild on the switch has helped me a bit and now I can actually muddle through. So I've been "practicing."
