I find that mmorpg.com members, ironically enough, are a niche crowd of mmo players.

I do play Neverwinter. And yea scaling is out of whack. I can have tow characters of same level. But one struggles to do certain content and other cheeses it. All because some strange item disparity.

I mean all the stats in the game are total mess right now

how exactly can you have stats not be wonky in a game that is based on paying real money for a high priced enchantment system? If you sell stat boosts in whatever clever way they come up with its still going to make any balance impossible. And yes crickets here.. this site has a couple of fan favorite mmorpgs and not much conversation outside of those few. But can you blame them? with all the pay to play/cash shop heavy garbage out here currently from lazy developers who care only about how much money they can suck up?

Not just right now, all the way back to Mod16 when they introduced this crap forced scaling. It was told them at then, and ever since, it's a bad move.

Apparently player count has dropped now to a level where they too start to realise it. Loved the PR stench on
"Many of you had asked if scaling could be improved and brought forward many ideas on ways that could be approached. We heard you and have made changes."
Except many of those "asked" to remove scaling, or -if Cryptic is this adamant on some form of it- use their own system instead from CO/STO and let the players scale wherever they want.

"Why go forward with this approach when it is not perfect? [..] In the end we want a seamless scaling experience that is accurate and as non-disruptive as it can be."
Guess what, there ain't better "non-disruptive" scaling than no scaling at all...
and when the players scale themselves, any time they want, however they want, that's where you find seamless.

But hey, grats for the lead designer role, hopefully will do a better job than your predecessors :)

There will be some new class in Neverwinter in 2020-2021. The game also has some sci-fi elements these days, such as Stardock with dragons flying in space on the lower orbit of the planet and the upcoming Mad Max style cars in Module 19.
