I think I saw that only people that Backed the game on Kickstarter at a Beta level ($50) or above will have access unless they buy the game again on Steam.
Seems pretty shitty to me

Backers are our best supporters since the beginning of the project, so… We are glad to announce Beta backers will be able to play The Waylanders since June,16. Surprise! You’ll get the game before the beta version is available.
This means, all the backers who pledged $50 or more will get access to the game in June 16.

Per the article the Early Access version costs $35 on Steam but you had to pledge $50 or more on Kickstarter to get access to this?
WTF?

So I guess backers paid $15 to enjoy the beta?
No... this IS the beta. They just started "Alpha" on June 1st.. so it's roughly 2 week "Alpha" and then an "Early Access' launch on Steam for $35
The "Beta" tier on Kickstarter was $50.
Actually I think it's even worse that it first seemed. The "Alpha" was announced on the 1st but they are billing this Steam Early Access as the Alpha. So it means people who pay $35 NOW get the same access as people who paid for Alpha testing, and beta testing and they do so before people who just bought the general game tiers when it started on Kickstarter

I almost fell asleep watching the movie.I took nothing away from it other than it was a movie.
I went to look on two other sites and got basically the same gibberish telling me about who worked on the game.
Finally found a video to see the true nature of the game.
1....one....ONE model...sigh.That is the perfect way to get to me stop watching the video and forget this game forever.
I can see now why it's trying to sell itself with the "look who worked on this game".
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I can see why they would do that. Their other Kickstarter tier is $30 and includes nothing but the base game. They need to let the $50 tier in early - and this is probably the earliest they felt comfortable doing that.
This is assuming the Early Access still has core features missing and is not a soft launch.
They should have added some bonuses to the $30 tier in my opinion. Selling nothing but the game leads to awkward situations like this.

A Kickstarter backer should always come out ahead since they are the ones taking the risk and funding the game’s development. Basically this is a slap in the face to anyone who backed the game years ago and supported it. Someone that buys the game on Steam Early Access for $35 is going to be playing the game for months or years earlier that someone that pledged for just the base game in Kickstarter at $30.

That's fair. Do you know if Early Access titles do sales on Steam? If so, the Kickstarter may come out as more expensive even before the game releases.

Well the article above says it's $35 but will launch with an extra 10% discount so I guess at launch it will be $31.50
If the article is correct.

The 50$ Tier was not only for the Beta:
Werewolf Rogue - Digital Edition
Be the first to play The Waylanders with the beta access! Also, get an exclusive in-game item and digital content like the OST and the Artbook
Digital download
Beta access
Digital artbook
Digital soundtrack
In-game item (Kickstarter exclusive)
The environments look nice but the characters seem a bit too mobile like for my tastes. I'll definitely watch people stream it before getting a real opinion.
