Microsoft Shutting Down Mixer, Merging With Facebook Gaming
Microsoft is shuttering its live-streaming service, Mixer, instead opting to merge its partners and streamers with Facebook Gaming, according to The Verge.
Shroud and Ninja won big time with this. They got all their money from the Mixer contract supposedly, and now they wait for all the streaming platforms to come to them with another big contract.
"Merging with Facebook gaming"... I wonder if MS will also integrate Facebook on Windows 10's game settings...
*vomits*
I would not be shocked to see Facebook Gaming integration on both PC apps and Xbox platforms moving forward. I'd be shocked if Facebook didn't leverage this.
So apparently Microsoft had a game streaming service. Huh. Who knew?
Who didn't?
Any Adult.
I don't know a single person who gives two shits about lame internet streamers / influencers and I wouldn't know where to look for any of these people other than Twitch or YouTube.
I hate Facebook and would not want to have to log into it to show all my nosy family members that I'm playing Destiny or whatever.
Twitch is about to dominate the market once more. Microsoft gave up way too fast IMO
The idea of showing your friends and family what you're playing is hilarious.
"Son, what's Huniepop?"
LOL I'm guilty for enjoying that game.
It also doesn't help that steam doesn't care what they green-lit, from Jesus fighting games to Drunk priests 'exorcising' women. All for the sake for a little coin.

No shame here. It's a match 3 puzzler with light RPG mechanics. And nudity. What's not to like?
Its always unfortunate when Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, or Google consolidate their market share. But Microsoft isn't much better.
I'm not a MS fanboy or anything, but to be fair, Microsoft at least has almost always had a tendency to create it's own parody product to compete in a market space. Other than DOS, it seems their strategy is to make their own in-house software and hardware to compete. This is obviously good sometimes (Windows, Xbox) and sometimes bad (Zune, Windows phone).
The newer tech giants' strategies seem to be to just buy out anything that can compete or run them out of business. After seeing Amazon and Google's Standard Oil-type practices, we should feel silly that we were so worried about anti-trusting Internet Explorer while we do nothing now...
You know what, I'd support different streaming platforms and it doesn't matter if it's Microsoft or FB or any other shitty tech monster company. I'm starting to get annoyed with Twitch.

Unfortunately these companies and Walmart will most likely own the planet in the next 20 years....

I would like to do the wrong decisions as well that nets me several million dollars.

Apparently the games kept erasing themselves from the server...

Currently: Games Audio Engineer, you didn't hear what I heard, you heard what I wanted you to hear.

LoL he made 30mil...I think he made the right one and now by what I heard facebook gaming has offered something like 60mil for him to go to them....
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
