That's good, because MY.COM are a very bad publisher, probably as bad as Nexon and Aeria/Gamigo. MY.COM got the publishing rights for Warface and the game has been a disaster since then. Before MY.COM there was no P2W the servers were fine, no lag, no netcode or hitreg issues. After MY.COM, the game quickly became P2W selling gear and weapons that make you more powerful and free players can't afford.

If Ashes of Creation wants to be successful, it should stay away from corrupt Russian crooks like MY.COM who can't even bother to afford better servers for their games despite clearly having the money to do so. Also they will make sure they will turn Ashes of Creation into a P2W shitfest that will only ruin the reputation and prematurely kill the game, completely negating any potential it may have.

Good call. I approve it 100%.

AoC team are doing all the right moves to probably become the best MMORPG so far.
Ditching My.Com and self publishing the game is a win win situation as not only you have total control over your product but you keep away one of the worst/greediest publishers in EU.
Now we need a 2021 release date and a matching COVID21-22 lockdown to fully enjoy our quarantine.

This is great news for EU playersas My Games is a greedy company that killed all of their games with p2w.

The reason they went with them in the first place should've been red flags anyway.

On one hand I'm glad that they're using same publisher for EU as they are for NA.

On the other hand after Intrepid failed to self-launch Ashes of Creation Apocalypse into open beta in 2018, then failed to launch it into early access in 2019, they could have really used expertise brought by working together with a publisher.

Fantastic news! I will definitely support them now. I have been on the fence about this title for a long time, but the more I see and hear from the developers, the more I'm starting to think they actually care and are doing their best to flesh out a solid MMO experience. We shall see I guess.

    Good news and bad news.
Good is they won't be giving a % away of their profits which imo will barely be enough.

Bad news:This was to save money,i highly doubt they will add any staff to make sure there is good customer support, not that we as gamer's are used to good customer support anyhow.
Customer support has been well below sub par and across the board.

I have not had one good experience with ANY dev since the days of EQ2,go figure a struggling business was the last to offer great support. They used to have GM's pop right into the game and try their best to solve issues as well seemed in no hurry to get out of there, was the best support i have ever had in gaming.

So EQ2/SOE support was like AAA
All others they get no A's only a garbage rating as in trash.

Steve the main guy litteraly said in interviews one of the main problems is lack of GMs and customer service in the game itself. And since he is the guy funding the game and calling the shots I would assume it will have that.

That being said they have added alot of staff lately obviously on the development side of things. But I see no reason atm he will not do what he said. He is being very transparent with the whole development of the game, both for the good and bad.

I suggest people watch more recent videos/interviews on their development. I was writting this game off after the apocalypse fiasco, the mmo now actually looks extremely promising. People are still judging this game based off videos from over a year ago. From comparing what I seen with the other big games in development, this one probably has the highest chance of success.

We get it, all your posts are about you telling us tales of how much you miss EQ2 or your vision for imo a boring mmorpg (you know, the part where you say pvp is bad for mmorpgs).

My.com is a dodgy Russian company, better to be nowhere near them.

Extremely stupid decision to begin with. "Hey, let's partner up with one of the companies with the worst reputation possible!"
