The third expansion in the eight years of Guild Wars 2, End Of Dragons is set to land in 2021. Taking place in the South of Tyria, it will drag players down to the fan favorite region of Cantha. After years of anticipation, fans of Guild Wars and guild Wars 2 will set out on adventure and find out if The Jade Sea still sits still and unwavering after 200 years of silence.

    Everything is going to Steam...... I wonder if I have to buy the game again on Steam or whether they will let me play with my current acct?

    This is by far my most anticipated expansion from all three. I love Cantha and Factions was easily my favorite expansion from the first game. I hope they will not only add the pve part of the game but add the alliance wars from factions as a pvp feature to the game too.

    It looks like we are going to the Jade Sea at the beginning and the expansion will focus on the underwater dragon. I can't wait!

    You can not play with your current account on Steam, it's mentioned on the Steam page.

    This may convince me to buy the Heart of Thrones/Path of Fire combination; Per their twitter, if you use ANNIVERSARY50 on check out it is only $15 for the combination of it. Maybe this will hold me over until Ashes of Creation. Of note for those that do not know, the base game (which itself is massive) is free.

    hmm.

    It could be interesting. But if I've learned one thing about GW2, it's that good ideas that sound great in concept do not guarantee the final product will reflect that.

    I'll wait and see.

    Totally agree! I am a big fan of GW1 skills. I can't get into nor understand GW2 skills even after all these years. I'm still playing because I love GW2 art style and the fast combat, armors, etc. but the skills is my least like about the game.

    I am praying, Longshot I know, that they will bring back the ritualist. My favorite class in GW1 for pve.

    ouch.  That's not a steam limitation as epic's latest Total War will be free to people who own it on epic.  At least when it arrives there after the exclusivity ends.  That'sa pretty shitty move TBH.

    It's to avoid RMT as far I know (due the ability to use your Steam wallet to buy expansions, ingame currency and so on tied to being able to get steam bucks due other activities such steam market), EvE also has that 'lock' as I mentioned in another thread.


    I would try it out if I could link my acc to steam... but since I can't, tough luck



    Even if it was to 'combat' RMT, its like almost a 10 year old game, so its not really gonna get as many people as they think since they'd have to start from scratch. They'd have better luck porting to console and getting more people at this point since it pretty much plays like a console game anyway.

    It's Cantha(I should get Factions CE lol)! Wonder whether Suxxons and Kurdicks are still there...

    Maybe when it launches on Steam...hm...

    Alright I'll come back. I have a few friends that still play this religiously. It's nice to have something to look forward too with GW2. I just assumed it was going into maintenance mode. Good news. :)

    Revenants are GW2 version of the Ritualist, you even get the "Champion Ritualist" title if you win 150 rated PvP game with one.

    Does this mean we will get another playable race? That would be interesting.

    Ritualist seems like a good fit for the Revenant's elite spec. The two are pretty similar lore-wise.

    Ritualist will not be back. I don't think any new professions - playable race? Maybe - Tengu!!!!!!
