ok, i give it a try and it remind me my young days in EVE
(of course, pass the blockchain thing) in term of gameplay..
i think a lot comes from here

it's a niche game but it can appeal some players

the big con: the $$ appear at each time you mine or kill something, it's really strange

The block chain aspect of play to own is the only part of this game that interests me. Ever since gold mining was a thing I've been saying the players need to own their in game property to fight the out of game black market.

Sadly I couldn't get through the tutorial with the UI so unintuitive and confusing.

I'm going to try to make this review as fair as possible while starting off with... this game is not for me.

That said, there are some really good things in CSC but some things that kill it. Worst of all is the tie to blockchain. I'm not knocking blockchain, but this game is the polar opposite of what games excite me... where effort is king. Anyone with a deep enough wallet can join the game and buy their way to power. What you can do for yourself in a year, they can do in minutes. Anything in the game can be traded for ETH (Etherium for the great unwashed). Again, I wanted to be fair so let me add this... if you're ok with that then you have overcome what I feel is the worst facet of the game and kills it for me.

Next worse thing is the pace. If you don't mind taking often 15-20 minutes just to get to a mission site or sometimes hours to get to othe rplaces, then you won't have an issue here. Yes, you can use a quantum drive but that fuel is going to cost you and likely in real $$ (or ETH) if you're going to do it frequently. Again, if you have the money or don't mind others using theirs, you won't have an issue. I prefer to be "in" a game I play not set course then go watch Youtube... keep n mind that mission it took 15 minutes to get to and will be over in likely 2 minutes or less will require a return trip. You can pay your way back though.

Crafting is deep and really is a good feature, but getting the materials you need is going to send you to places where your ships will have perma loss to modules, cargo, and even the whole ship requiring you to buy insurance... that's not new or odious, but this game has been active in alpha for 2 years and there will be no wipe so the existing player base is going to be brutal on new players trying to mine the rarer ores. That's fine and part of a sandbox, but the old players are flying Gods that new players will not be able to compete with, unless of course they have that deep wallet. Older players, a lot of them, have discontinued ships that don't require insurance, they can be replicated for free an unlimited times... they paid A LOT for this, some of these rare ships cost well into 5 figures ($10,000+).

This game has a lot to like. I would gladly play if they ever come up with a second server that starts everyone at scratch and has a true player economy that requires in-game effort and in-game cash. The existing game has a true player economy now that they are removing outside purchase of things, but you can buy anything in the game with real money. I doubt they will make that server for me, but that's the only way I would play.

Now I expect some flak from game veterans, especially ones who saw the mini wall of text and don't read to the end, but for those who do, this universe is quality and aside from the ability to buy your way to power, I would play it. I am not advocating that what entices me should entice anyone else and am not bashing the game, I'm explaining where it fails for ME and only for ME. What I dislike others may love.

It is worth checking out, especially for free in the alpha state. Try it and make up your own mind!

If the UI wasn't such a garbage mess then it would actually be a really good game. Seriously, did the devs never actually try to play the game themselves? It's like they looked at the EVE UI and asked themselves "How can we make this even more complicated for every user?" It's a shame really, the game seems pretty good overall, just needs a massive UI overhaul.
