I was hoping I wouldn't have to write this article, but I always knew it was a possibility. Marvel's Avengers launched this week and for better and worse, I'm having a real sense of Anthem déjà vu.

Sigh. Kamala has been in Marvel since 2013 and has become one of the most popular and better developed characters, so grow up and stop living in the past, dude, there's a world outside of your basement.
About the game, the campaign is quite fun and probably the best marvel coop game ever done since Marvel Heroes (each hero is fun and feels iconic), but I'm also having Anthem vibes about it. The game could fail hard in playing retention if the developers doesn't add more map variety and incentives to the multiplayer mode.
So let's hope they have enough content coming soon.
The bugs are expected at launch day in almost every game today, so I'm not surprised.
Warframe is great now, but it launched as a mediocre game.
Destiny 1&2 sucked ass at launch, and the franchise has improved to the astromical heights of ... mediocrity. And is now cutting most of its content so it can go back to sucking ass.
Anthem launched without content, dead on arrival.
And the Division? A mundane setting for a mundane game full of hacks and exploits.
Maybe it'll live and grow long enough to be good when I buy it for the PS5 in a year. I'm not mad, just disappointed.
I know it's pointless to say anything to you, but people loved Kamala in MUA3, and they love her here. The game has 99 problems, and she aint one.
I have since then built a new rig was already waiting on parts. I have only ran across one bug so far at 15 hours in. My game froze up when I defeated the second main boss in the story arc. When I logged back in though the game picked up after the kill and continued, so I didn't lose the kill or progess.
I can say I have noticed the game runs ten times better on my SSD than my mechanical drive. I have ran it off of both just to see how much a difference it would make.
Overall the developers deserved a lot of the hate for the game being unplayable on a large portion of systems. Other than that though the gameplay is pretty solid. I can't stand playing Iron Man or Thor though because you can't make them run, as soon as you try they want to fly and the flying controls are just not that great for me to be honest. Just don't enjoy the way the flying feels.
I would say Kamala is my favorite to play with right now. She is very versatile and can heal when needed which is great.
I keep seeing all the typical I ran through the story in 10 hours complaints you see with every launch. All I can say is they skipped 2/3 of the things in the levels. I really doubt they even found one of the vaults that actually lead to new side quest because they were in such a rush. There are tons of things to do. As an example at 15 hours I just unlocked Black Widow. That is as far in the story as I have gone because of all the extras hidden in the missions that I complete. Tons of daily and weekly things to complete to unlock that "free" stuff (battle pass system) that came with the purchase to include the currency to buy the new additions without having to pay a dime more.
I plan to only play this as a solo player game so with that said I give the gameplay a 7.5 or so. On the technical side I would say this game is around 4.5 because of the launch issues on all the different types of pc builds. They didn't spend enough time working on the PC side of it for launch.
Their goal is to get people to buy battle passes rather than heroes. We'll see if they ever have to change their mind.
Never mind the stupid micro transactions and that it seems to be a Chinese rip off of the Avengers the fact that they have motion blur that can not be disabled in 2020 is just mind blowing. As someone who gets motion sick very easy and despises micro transaction games this is a hard pass.
Not only that but it's pretty insulting to the Avengers.

Love Minecraft. And check out my Youtube channel OhCanadaGamer
Try a MUD today at http://www.mudconnect.com/Enemies are very repetitive as are the missions. Its fun but has no lasting appeal. Anthem even had more imo then this.
We should all be used to this by now, the big title release that comes out too soon, keep your money in your wallets this is now how AAA gaming rolls. Wait for the reviews, not the hype.
Like Anthem and other games there is enough here that I am interested... eventually. No way will I pay full price for it, between the MTX and areas of the game that seems lacking just make it a no go. I have better games to spend my money on for the rest of this year.
As far as the characters go from what I have seen they all seem to be lacking a spark to make them really connect with players. Even watching others play the game it feels like you are watching people play faded carbon copies of the characters. There is no "heart" to their portrayal, they almost seem to be just putting in the appearance because it is part of their contractual requirements, if that makes any sense.
Motion blur can be disabled from the launcher options.
I haven't come across any game breaking bugs or anything weird but i know of people who have had some issues like their cosmetics disappearing but i mean CD is working on it.
It outstands me how much misinformation and straight up lies is going around about this game, but it is what it is.
Is it perfect, no like any live service game. Is it terrible not by a long means, graphically it's amazing, the story is really well done, the "end game" is pretty repetitive at the moment but what game isnt.
don't know who told you this, but there is 100% a motion blur toggle and i have it turned off.

you don't have to buy the battlepass it only really provides cosmetic stuff and the characters are free, so i'm not sure what business practices you are referring to.
The game could definitely have stood to be delayed for a little bit to iron some things out, but over all if they do as they say they will with tons of content updates over the course of many years, I see no reason why this game won't be a huge success for Square Enix.
I am more and more of the opinion that games should be made in secret and shared with gamers when they're good and ready. Anything else and we just end up with an industry full of crap.
Why publish quality games when you can publish everything that has the potential to make obscene amounts of money regardless of quality?
Every corner I turn, I just see more and more of SE's excessive greed.
Really hurts as an old fan back in the Squaresoft days.
Once upon a time, Lucasarts made amazing Star Wars games. There was seriously so much diversity in the genres. They covered the entire gaming spectrum and most of them were great even for folks that weren’t big fans of the IP.
Also, if you didn't think Guardians was brilliant, you have no soul, my dude.
We get it--popular entertainment sucks and has all been ruined by SJWs and only idiots like it. I'm sure there'll be like 10 more Adult-rated anime dating sims on Steam by the end of the week to keep you busy while the world goes to hell.
