At least for me the whole game was a miss. The graphics were muddy with janky textures, strange color choices, and terrible facial animations. The main story line was terrible and incredibly short (guess that’s good when it’s garbage). The individual stories in each location were ok, but so disconnected from the game. Companions were ok I guess, but the combat was super janky.

I was very disappointed as I love pretty much everything Obsidian Entertainment has made, Fallout New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Tyranny, heck I even loved Alpha Protocol. I wasn’t even hyped for the game and it still disappointed me.

I liked the The quirky ness of the base game. The biggest issue I had was it felt incomplete and rushed. Only one companion seemed to have a full quest line. The others were just half assed and empty.

Oh Obsidian, I used to love you guys so much and I just cannot for the life of me understand what you're doing.

Your games come so close, and yet you allow yourself to push them out the door usually only about a 1/3 of the way finished but sometimes we get a good 2/3 finished game from you.

Just like the companion quests in POE 1 & 2 that just ended in nothing and went nowhere, or the incomplete yet still wonderful FONV.

My advice obsidian, whatever games you're working on the future. Stretch it out, take it further, do more with.. all of it. We love what you do, Obsidian. We just want it done right. Go crazy with the dialogue choices and skill/attribute checks, finish your damn questlines and start dedicating more than a single quest ( or as with TOW more than ya' know no quest at all ) to our companions.

I know you're gonna go "but deadlines! budgets!" just do it Obsidian. Just do it. The first game you truly dig deep into and dedicate extended dev time and effort to is going to rock the RPG genre. You have it in you.
