I know people love to trash this game (including myself), some of it is justifiable, but remember this is a mmorpg home for some of the most down to earth decent players i've ever met in a mmorpg world.
I've aired my grievance in the past with this game, it's not the worst ever, it exists and is running and not a dreamers doesn't really exist game which is saying something nowadays, overall it wasn't for me but i've also made it aware that people do play this game, this is their world and tbph they are a pretty dedicated bunch of players which at least they have an mmorg to call home, which also says a lot nowadays too.

if they ever fix the interface performance bug than performance will be a non issue. it was identified last release that using f9 to remove interface even in 12 man raid group gave out full performance. There is a major fps draw on the interface they are aware and looking to fix it. Thank Echondas for the find. Beyond that Unity itself has issues they are fixing and one major is allowing multi processor cpu to finally work again on the server side for many things. two version of unit ago they changed something the broke how many instances could be run on a single server. Unity itself has had a lot of issues which slowly they are fixing. I look forward to the day they get it all optimized. in the mean time I totally agree that it has framerate issues mainly in player towns with so many decorations and objects.
As to player base its still growing. The Steam numbers have always been low. most people use the games actual launcher because it gets patches first and is much smoother and gets fixes faster. its always been that way. On average now is around 4000-5000 player characters played per month. So even if half are alts thats still 2000 people per month playing which for sure is not 50 as Lonesols states. I am not surprised he is banned from the site and stream for all the garbage info and posts. the most expensive store basement is $40 on the store. which is 1.6mil gold in game which is a castle basement.... players even sell them for less than the store. The old RMT whales are long gone when Catnip forced them out with changes

What is your source for actual player numbers? Chris Spears has a history of lying, so unless there's a source confirming what he says, his words don't count.

that comment made no sense
That's what I look for in a MMORPG with significant performance issues.
