Define what you mean by improved, please? Legit asking.
If you're talking about bugs? Then people have been massively, massively overblowing it. And yes, I've played on and off quite a bit. The worst bug I myself have EVER encountered was when like... 2-3 bullets of ammo would just inexplicably poof from my inventory. That's literally it.
It's also my first ever Fallout game, so... most folks would probably discoutn my opinion solely based on that. The times I've been playing it were with my boyfriend for the most part, and we were having a blast. The mutations are wild and varied. Lasers and plasma weapons to play with.
But sadly, I'm not allowed to speak positively of Fallout 76 these days. People either scream that I'm a shill or call me names just because I don't follow the hating hypetrain. :C
Honestly, if you enjoyed Fallout 4, you should be enjoying Fallout 76. It's essentially the same thing just with people around. I did encounter a bug 2 days ago (couldn't equip any weapons but 1), but relogging fixed it.
There's npcs now, with reputation system. I'd love if I met more bandits/cultists etc when wandering around, besides Scorched or robots. I'm still level 10 tough, so that can change.
I'm treating it as a new Fallout game with people around instead of a survival mmo (?), and imo that should be the way to play this. I still am not a fan of the level scaling they just added, but eh what can you do. I'm enjoying it for now, and that's all that matters.
I'd say right now there's about 40 to 60 hours of actual gameplay to go through, besides dailies and rep grinds. It's more than enough to be playable. There's always going to be the random bugs here and there that crop up, but most(ish) of them get fixed fairly quickly.
The biggest problem of the game that I can see is the 'meta' builds that crop up online. Even after the recent patch and 'nerf', there is still 'the best build' and then all other builds. I'd say just make your character however you want it to be and have fun.
You can't respec if you don't like what you spent your points on. Only thing you can do is either restart a new character, or level to 50 and any level afterwards you can shift a point (yes a single point) from an attribute to another.
I primarily played on PS4, it would crash all the time. Eventually I ended up playing on PC with game pass. It was better, and was more stable.
I can't say how it is since one wasteland though, I'll probably pop in and check it out, I've been on and off the game for a while, but there have been a ton of bugs, even on PC they've had to turn off portions of the game to "fix" problems that arise.
Still, it's playable, and probably worth it for fallout fans
Funnily enough I was the guy checking what's it like right now, my friend who gifted me the game to have anyone to play with, I have now learned storyquests don't progress for both players - only group leader. This wasn't the case when we played through the original story - this is a new ADDITION.
I think the nerf is more of a readjusting values thing. I was running a build that consistently did 4500 or more per hit. Needless to say everything died in one hit. But now I am only doing 300 something and it's still enough to wipe most creatures quickly. I think the adjust most creatures sponginess down.
I personally have heard friends and fam say the game is crap, garbage, worse game ever, then i ask did you play it, and ofc the answer is NO!
Well then how do you know it's so crappy? You're running around spreading the news it's so bad but in reality have no clue what the game is like.
The whole hate explosion here was completely uncalled for, but, as the expression goes if it bleeds it leads. Bottom line problem hate and drama gets more views and yeah they all had to get on that train of lies.
Yea, it's pretty sad that 'game shaming' is so prevelant.

Especially when it's unjustified and only misleads people. I was in some deep dev chit with work and tbh i need to focus (it's pretty much a live eat breath code thing for a bit) anyway, i was playing FO76 with a bunch of online friends, and you know haha that keep you going longer and my mind is elsewhere rolling code through my brain, so when FO76 had a huge sale right after it released ffs, i bought another account so i could just play on my own BECAUSE THE GAME IS AWESOME AF is why, you know play without loads of peeps wanting to play together, i have like hardly any time during these times but i still need to chill the f out right, it's a thinking thing tbh i can think about shit will playing its a surprisingly focus, thing where i can like step away from the code and understand things from another perspective like a users perspective, whatever, it helps but having people chatting yadayada, and stay on longer and any light bulb code moment i can just dump the game and switch to code, it's unfair to people i play with and yeah no, this is the way it works better.
ANYWAY... lmao, it's a rare moment in time, but for it, it's just better to switch to solo. SO lol
Here i have an extra account, i asked my boys if they want it, and they don't, they say the games crapola, garbage, i'm like you never played it, try it out for FREE.
I've gone as far to give them the login account info and they won't bother to even try it becasue the internet has completely convinced them it's the wildest largest raging dumpster fire of all time. That's the influence social media and the internet has over people! Which is scary af tbh.
It has improved a lot! People should give it a try if they enjoy the single player fallout games.
It was all minor, the internet made a mountain out of a mole hill, threw explosives on a dwindling fire.
There was (and still are) bugs and exploits that could be experienced in fallout 4, indicating the game being largely copied from it. To top it all off, they removed the identity of the game, aka npcs.
I don't know what they expected. The soul of these games is the "lively" npc interactions and choices you could make. By launching without that, made many fans undoubtedly angry.
Sure, it was blown out of proportion, but there was some merit to some of the complaints.
To each their own, I didn't enjoy what I've seen in the early stages. The price plummeted down a lot and bought it for cheap, but still waited for improvements. With the additions they made to the game, it reached a satisfactory level and I gave it a try.
You are not allowed to have a game that needs more content without a roadmap, it is mandatory now.
