I am pleased to see that finally there's a quality HiFi headset reviewed for roughly the same price as the garbage that's reviewed regularly (like that wireless one last week for $199).
When I look at the range of both headphones and microphone I would buy this headset. The 10-30KHz sound range is awesome, but I need to hear it myself first before getting it. For honestly, it's not just range that really matters. It is h ow alive the sound itself is as well.
I own an '80s Sennheiser 990DT headphone and an AKG K701 Reference Headphone and though both have a very wide range (5-43kHz and 12-33KHz resp iirc) the quality of the sound differs when I use them with what what kind of music (and even mood).
The only down site I find for this headset is the closed 'ergonomic' ear pads. The pads might fit or not fit your years and if your ears are a bit larger the pads will put pressure on your ears and make them a literal pain to use - Sennheisser should have used regular round pads IMO.
As for the closed system itself. Though it in general gives a better gaming experience because if blocks out surrounding noised pretty well, it is not advisable to use it for hours at a time on a daily basis. The closed system creates extra moisture in and around the ears, causing extra ear grease and even infections! I am not saying here NOT to use a closed system for gaming, but you should take a (headphone) break for 10 minutes roughly every hour and that's not what I see gamers do when in the heat of battle ;-)
