Just wow.
Crafting station surface decorations. For real?
This needs a Godzilla facepalm...
"classification of games into MMOs is not by rational reasoning" - nariusseldon
Love Minecraft. And check out my Youtube channel OhCanadaGamer
Try a MUD today at http://www.mudconnect.com/There are still some hanging on, and some of those may still have hope for the expansion that has been said to be upcoming eventually. I expect that is partly due to the extreme investment many made during their fund raising being difficult for some to let go of.
The game is also not entirely constructed of flaws. There are some unique aspects to play, or at least ones I haven't seen elsewhere. The housing can be quite functional such that it has genuine purpose. Character develop according to their actions rather a fully abstract system. There are no classes as well to pigeonhole one's character. It has game elements that many claim to favour.
If the game didn't perform so terribly I'd likely be puttering around in it even now occasionally, despite some of my displeasure with how it developed over time. But, it does perform horribly, even on SSD with the settings put as low as they can go, despite being able to run more aesthetically pleasing titles much more smoothly.
But, hey, crafting table surface decorations take priority, of course, so the trivial matters mentioned above will just have to wait their turn... indefinitely.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer
The game will continue to grow every month its not going to run out of funds nor will they stop developing it for a long time to come.
Until Spears finds a new job and quietly slips out the back door, just like how Garriott tried to slink off.
He doesn't know how to fix them, or doesn't have the resources or (likely) some combination of the two. He's a code monkey, not a designer.
Is that like the crafting upgrade that he promised and you quoted months ago????
All the times you said that the game continues to grow, by now it should be the most populated game in the world. Too bad reality doesn't actually follow your words.
I do agree here, still waiting on the changes that they mentioned 2 months ago lol.
As to growth its still growing though. 100 a month. its not much but better than nothing
It does disappoint me though when they show off something coming which does not make the release... like the pvp queue. As long as its done right though I will wait. They just did a release which was crafting related but it was on the cooking side, and pet food. Not what I was hoping for.... so just means my changes are not in until maybe next release... if not the next lol. I do see your point. Well at the same time though I am happy to see that many people were excited over the cooking school changes. much like everything before I think they will be going through each school like they did with Adventure trees the last 6 months for adjustments and new spells.
I work most my days and don't get on as much these days so waiting is not an issue for me... UO took over 25 years to be what it is today.. So we have many years to get there
If it were growing 100 a month that means over the past 3 years it would have 3,600+ players.
It doesn't even have over 1000 players. Between Stream numbers and what the API shows on shroufoftheavatar.net it's not even close to that number.
