Tried hard to play this, the animations and movement are too far off the mark to play. Hell, ESO feels more fluid.

I tried really hard to get into it..but..for being touted as a PvP game..I spent a lot of time trying to grind to "max level" on my character skin sleeve just to be able to fight someone else.

If you go through the tutorial (new player experience) you will get to level 16 to 20. That takes about two hours max. To get to max level (30), even if you don't really know what you are doing should take another two hours max.

I can level a white vessel (basic starting "vessel" or body) solo in about two and a half hours max. I leveled a Blue vessel in around 6 hours.

Not that you cannot solo pvp, but the game is group/guild/alliance driven. Know that going in.

I also tried it, played it like 30-40 minutes and uninstalled it. It felt like there was nothing to do in the game. I don't think it will do fine. PvP is fine, but they won't find enough people for PvP, they should explore PvE stuff before it's too late and the game goes under.

Daoc was the same way at first.

So was Shadowbane, which Crowfall is based on. It actually is a lot faster to level up in CF than it was it SB.

It seems like some people are expecting a Moba and others are expecting a PvE game. Crowfall is neither.

5 years ago, when they really started development in earnest, they said they will focus on combat first because they need to get combat right if the game is to be successful.

I think its obvious after 5 years they are still not there, the combat is jerky, and the animations slide at times making you think you are ice skating around. The player physics is no intuitive, the bounding boxes usually larger than the models themselves.

The worse part is, they've spent so much time and effort on the combat, that the rest of the game has been ignored, there really is not a lot to do outside of PvP with other players. If there are no players around, you're left bored.

It's a PvP game. They never planned for there to be much PvE. The PvE that does exist is there to teach players the game, or to generate PvP.

It's almost my time to give this beta a go. I'm in 9.4 and they invited 9.1

The combat has improved greatly in the past year. Last year the collision or any impact didn't really exist. It was like you were casting abilities and hitting air.

There are a lot of concerns being thrown around about not enough PVE or only group PVP but to me where the game shines is character development. You have a wide variety or races and classes and a progression system that rewards you the longer you play. The individual character growth is long-term and meaningful. If you want to be only a crafter you can be or a healer or a solo assassin. The server(Unity) sux I been saying it for years but if you can look past that there is a very involved MMO game like we haven't seen in years. Compared side by side New World is the moba for its simplicity and CF is closer to EVE or Albion but more complex than Albion.

I'll summarize Crowfall gameplay for everyone. PVE is fine, mass PVP is fine - It's plenty enjoyable with a group, solo's is a gankfest but still fun. However during PVE or PVP you'll be running around with a emo Captain America made of cotton candy hitting people with a marsh mellow dildo, it feels truly lackluster.

I dont think leveling, PVE or PvP is the actual issue with the game at the moment. It's literally more the fact that it still has zero weight to it. It feels like your a Captain America made of cotton candy hitting people with a marshmallow dildo, its just no good.
