    I know what you mean, but it's called backwards because the new machine is literally going backwards in a generation to run games from an older machine.

    I think a PC would be more like forward compatibility if you can run a modern game on windows xp.

    I seriously doubt this ever happens. With MS buying up and adding games to their catalog Sony isn't gonna want to share an exclusive, especially since it's available on PC.
