Does seem they are trying to make up for lost ground
Massive changes to each class, but at the end of the day was class design the biggest factor in the game's success?
I dunno. I haven't played in a few months. In figure when the "big patch" hits I will load it up again and see.
Then of course we will start to hear about the NEXT big patch which will start to include improvements from the imbedding of the Unity folks in the team for a few weeks...

So I'm curious as I never really asked about this, but in the maps, are structures or bases premade by the game itself or do players build them? If they are in fact built by players, can they be built anywhere on the map or only in certain spots?
Currently they are only premade, and require resources to upgrade and complete. For instance, a fort might not have walls until enough resources are donated. But all of it premade, the players do not choose the location. I don't think that will change come release, they originally had plans for the world to be more malleable by the the players, such as being able to dig tunnels, but I think that has been abandoned.
If the game was more PvE-oriented, I'd be interested, but as it currently stands, I don't think I will be able to get into it and I think lots of others won't either.
I don't hate PvP, I just like it when it's like in WoW's PvE servers - if you want PvP, there are battlegrounds and arenas, if you don't want PvP, you just don't go there and everyone is happy.

To add on to this, guilds can choose what buildings they want to construct. Different buildings provide different benefits.
I really think these types of MMO's that are long-term progression games like Albion, EVE need a sub-genre label similar to how "strategy" has "4x". Anyone logging in expecting instant gratification like WoW won't really get it in CF. If anything CF is closer to classic MMO's where you'll need to socialize and possibly dedicate years of your life to get your characters to where you want them to be.

Also, at least when I played it, the upgrading was only available in the guild vs guild pvp world.

HERE is a look at the DRUID class,ok now read some typed words BAH !!.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
They're more of an example of how you can successfully create an MMO and it may still be boring.
