Wycliffe's Bible is the name now given to a group of Bible translations into Middle English that were made under the direction of John Wycliffe. They appeared over a period from approximately 1382 to 1395.

Isaiah 14 Wycliffe Bible

12 A! Lucifer, that risedest early, how fellest thou down from heaven; thou that woundedest folks, felledest down (al)together into [the] earth. (O! Lucifer, who risedest up early, how thou hast fallen down from heaven; thou who hast wounded the nations, fell down to the ground.)

1599 Geneva Bible
Isaiah 14

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning? and cut down to the ground, which didst cast lots upon the nations?

James gave the translators instructions intended to ensure that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology—and reflect the episcopal structure—of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy.[8] The translation was done by 6 panels of translators (47 men in all, most of whom were leading biblical scholars in England) who had the work divided up between them: the Old Testament was entrusted to three panels, the New Testament to two, and the Apocrypha to one.[9] In common with most other translations of the period, the New Testament was translated from Greek, the Old Testament from Hebrew and Aramaic, and the Apocrypha from Greek and Latin. In the Book of Common Prayer (1662), the text of the Authorized Version replaced the text of the Great Bible for Epistle and Gospel readings (but not for the Psalter, which substantially retained Coverdale's Great Bible version), and as such was authorized by Act of Parliament.[10]"

"The Bright Morning Star goes to the misnomer of "Lucifer", which is an incorrect title for Satan or the Devil taken from the King James Version of Isaiah 14:12. Were it not for this odd transliteration, "Lucifer" would not exist as a term in English, and there would be no confusion on the matter. As it is, we need to be careful, I would suggest, in using the term to describe who the Bible calls "Satan" or "the Devil". Most Christians are onto this, yet still the term "Lucifer" persists. In any case, the "morning star" is the title of Christ throughout the rest of Scripture."

2Pet 1:19 (NIV) And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Rev 2:28 (NIV) I will also give him the morning star.

Rev 22:16 (NIV) "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

As part of this deep, philosophical, discussion does anyone recall whether "Lucifer" was the name, or the title, of the assistant to the Imperious Leader in the original Battlestar Galactica TV series?

The Imperious Leader resembles the reptilian species that created the Cylons to begin with, though it is entirely mechanical and has no organic components. Built with three distinct brains, the Imperious Leader possesses unparalleled computational power, making it an excellent strategist and commander. In the event that the Imperious Leader is destroyed, another is selected from an IL-series Cylon.

While various artworks depict the frontal appearance of the Imperious Leader, its face was never revealed on-screen during the TV series and it was only ever seen from the back or overhead, or otherwise obscured by shadow.

    • The origin of the Imperious Leader can be traced directly to Count Iblis. In "War of the Gods, Part II", Baltar tells Iblis that he recognizes his voice as that of the Cylon Imperious Leader. Iblis balks at this, replying that he would have to be 1,000 yahrens old since the Cylon race is just as old. Additional information from the "Experiment in Terra" telemovie indicates that the onset of the Thousand Yahren War was started by the Imperious Leader, who had a defect in its programming that lead to the annihilation of the serpent Cylons and the subsequent holocausts against humanity.
    • A green lizard can be seen sitting on the shoulder of the Imperious Leader in the pilot episode. This reptilian/lizard reference was never fully explored in the Original Series run, except during a scene on Carillon where Apollo explains the origins of the Cylons to Boxey.

Count Iblis is the Colonial version of the Prince of Darkness, who almost tricks a majority of the Fleet's citizens to follow "him".

He was previously a Being of Light who fell from grace after using his powers for evil purposes. He is known as Lucifer, Prince of Darkness, Mephistopheles, "The Devil", and Diabolis.

Captain Apollo and Lieutenants Sheba and Starbuck come across this manifestation of evil itself while they are about to investigate the wreckage of what once was a fairly large vessel. Iblis manages to trick them into believing he is a confused survivor of the crash, also fooling Apollo's instruments into believing that the ship had a high radiation level

In my understanding of the show and mythology it is the same story as everything, olympians are the good guys and the superior species was/is the oppressed ugly bad guys. At the end adam(ah) got kicked out of the artificial eden and came to the real eden. With his son apollo
