Black Desert Music Video by GLAY Drives Connections Record in Japan

MikehaMikeha Member EpicPosts: 9,196

A few days ago, the local branch of Pearl Abyss published a music video featuring the song “Mata Koko de Aimashou” by the super popular Japanese J-pop and rock band GLAY, and it certainly caused a buzz.

The video was viewed one million times in 48 hours, and today it has reached nearly 2.5 million views, which certainly isn’t bad for a YouTube channel that counts less than 8,000 subscribers.

Today the Japanese arm of Pearl Abyss reached out with a press release announcing that the game just broke its record for simultaneous connections, which certainly isn’t anything to sneeze at five years after its local launch.

Was the video done by the group itself? Quite nicely done and the meteoric rise in viewers is either a testament to the popularity of the group or BDO either way this is very good publicity.

Feels like the opening theme to an anime!

10.5 Million when I watched it just now.

I guess that's good and hopefully no DMA strikes will occur

PS: D'OH! This was posted April 27...

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

I enjoyed the music. The singing, not so much. It's cool for a game to have a music video though.
