Reports have come out from various outlets confirming a police operation is taking place at Ubisoft Montreal's headquarters. Local Montreal news, as well as the Montreal Police have confirmed that officers are on site, but not much more is known exactly what is going on.

Also there was no mention of armed robbery or anything like that.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
P.S. - What is the atheist equivalent of "thoughts and prayers?" Just thoughts?
Just go to my thread I was following all this before this half arsed thread popped up.

it's a half arsed one and has incorrect information.

Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
Lighten up Francis. Here's your forum journalism medal....
It wasn't a hostage situation, it wasn't a robbery it wasn't something on the roof now was it.
Just sayin'
At least they are being nice about it and not just auto-merging his thread into this one lol.

So again... Check the tweet, it's right there in the article... they reported on it as it became available.

But you're acting like they were wrong for writing news that was posted by the CBC... like it's the fault of those here for staying up to date with the other news sources.
In the end whether its your thread or this one, it all ended in the same conclusion, corroborated by several outlets, and both threads have timelines of what was reported, like it or not.

I also saw an citizen being interviewed that stated a female officer was running through the crowd with an open firearm yelling at people to move.
So this reminded me of the few recent cases of swatting where the officers automatically pulled out their guns and shot people based on a "telephone call".
This is VERY sloppy use of firearms and we need laws to tackle this problem.Basically a phone call is all that is needed for an officer to brand a weapon that kills people and HAS in the past killed innocent people.
IF and i say IF there was an actual hostage situation, would running through a street with innocent pedestrians with a gun branded do ANYTHING to help the situation?I highly doubt that officer is even trained in hostage situations nor would be the one to act or communicate.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

No, it doesn't.
Go away.
Another big change is quite a lot of "news" is now a game of "he said, she said". What anyone in the public eye says, without verification sometimes is considered worthy of reporting. Little or no depth here, the ramifications of the statement or believability are not looked into. Then it is a game of tit for tat or denials and accusation all of which are reported as news.
This has been noticeable particularly in Broadcasters who used to be our gold standard compared to the papers, they now do the sort of reporting that they used to criticise the tabloids for.
Seems pretty stupid all in all. Though the fuck is up with the people on the roof...dudes that's the last place you wanna go lol...
Like I worked for a organization that had protocols for shooters at work. Roof was literally where you go to die lol. Like who the fuck thinks going higher up is a survival strategy lol.
