If there was such a thing as the 8 stages of Gamer Grief, I've been through just about all of them when it comes to Marvel's Avengers. During the pre-order and open beta, I experienced the first stage of Gamer Grief - Denial. I told myself, as many who play pre-release online games do, that "this is just beta and it will get better". With the Hawkette Kate Bishop now in the game, has Marvel's Avengers met fans expectations with the new, long awaited, first post-launch character?

Because gameplay wise Hawkeye is a lot of fun (no matter the flavour) and it is easy to build a varied kit without having to bend over backwards.... But both eyes lack one thing... good options when it comes to get around... between arrowbikes and ziplines the comics always finds a way... but a game can not do that... So they bend the lore a bit to solve that issue...
Not exactly hard to understand... Now is it.
And it is not so much ignoring lore as it is adding to it...
This have been a good conversation
But if it's about sex selling, she's still a boring addition and Marvel is full of hotter, more interesting women. Scarlet Witch, Rogue, Jean Grey, Susan Storm, Jubilee. "I can't believe it's not Hawkeye" doesn't crack the top 10.
There's literally hundreds of characters they could have added instead of discount female Hawkeye, but why do that when they can just re-skin Hawkeye and not have to put in any extra money/development for new powers/unique looks/cosmetics? I mean, from what I understand, Marvel Avengers was not a commercial success as far as sales to development costs. I can understand them wanting to fleece what remains of their loyal customers, but, how do they expect to generate any new revenue by releasing trash and hoping people pay for it? I don't know about anyone else, but, I'd rather drop more money into Cyberpunk 2077 than touch this terrible rendition of an action RPG set in the Marvel universe.
They could have at least attempted to put in the bigger names, as suggested, like Storm or Scarlet Witch, Jean Grey, Beast, Rogue..hell..I'd throw money at being able to play as Psylocke, she's one of my all time favorite Marvel characters, and she has had an interesting backstory. Another one, which would be hard to develop but would be interesting, is Legion. Since Legion has split personalities, each with their own set of powers, it'd be like playing a different character each time he switched identities. Which could easily be developed into "stances" or via different skill trees, they could just pick three of the most interesting ones, or even tie it to cosmetics. (Equip X skin to use Y identity which has Z powers, or equip S skin to use G identity which has L powers, etc etc.) But, hey, who knows..maybe Hawkeye Zero will be the saving grace that will push Marvel Avengers into the highest grossing game of PS4/XB1/PC for 2020.
The only Hero characters I really knew were Batman,Spiderman,The Hulk and that is it and kind of enjoyed all the related movies...somewhat.However when comes to games i don';t want to see known IP's because typically he devs are trying to do cheap lazy work and just cash in on the popularity of the super heroes.
Admit it,if this EXACT game was made using unknown super heroes,it loses a lot of interest real fast...right?
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Coincidence? Maybe? It's the only reason I can think to have this character put on spotlight.
That's because comics suck and most of us only pay attention to em via youtube narrators these days.
Also because Gunn makes a mean ass good movie. I hate the guardians comic. It's just not for me. PRE movie. Knew about them, didn't care about them.
It was the sound track and humor that made the movie good and it appealed to us 80's kids who wanted to go on a navigator adventure when we were kids only to find out that navigator adventure was a black van with a wizard painted on it and also you got molested.
I mean even with super heroes nobody is playing it lol.
Dudes right though this site hyped that shit up so hard but ignores other superhero games (the few) because let's face it. These dudes need money if the metrics say anything.
Some one start a go fund me for these writers.
