When we say the hits just keep on coming for Cyberpunk 2077, we're not talking about a Nomad with Gorilla Arms. The latest issues levied at CD Projekt Red further spells more trouble as a class action lawsuit is reportedly on the table from investors, while GOG warns players to limit their items, or lose their save games.

I haven't spent much time in Cyberpunk 2077 but it didn't seem as bad as everyone made it out to be. The issues we're all talking about here have been happening to games for DECADES and there was never this sort of backlash. The media and gaming sites absolutely blow things up.
From one angle I understand that we're trying to put pressure on game companies to create games decent games that have depth and aren't buggy but on the other hand we burn and recycle games so fast these days that it doesn't seem worth it to bother making them. The sheer Project Management effort that is required to make a game now when it can die before it's even released just seems a waste of time and effort.
Hopefully CDPR turn it around before the community disowns them.
Also the last time I played Fallout 4 I deleted almost 7GB (yes GB) of save files.
Cyberpunk 2077? More like 2076.
So did Baldur's Gate 3 and whilst that has some average reviews it didn't get anywhere near the kind of flak that CP2077 is getting. It's like stacks on. One person started a bad review and then everyone just decided to jump on the bandwagon. They made a shit awful decision with PS4/XBONE, I'll admit that, but that should be separate from the rest of the issue.
OUR expectations of games are getting higher and higher every year. We want more and more out of games as technology progresses but we're not taking into account the actual workload involved in putting a game together. Companies are having to release games early because they're under pressure from investors and more so from the gaming community to not become another 'vapourware' game. It's a damn tight line they run and we're not at all forgiving.

People lost their shit over that the same way they're now losing it over releasing it too soon.
Seems like incompatible shit losing, but that's just me.

Considering my level of hoarding initially I can't even imagine how much you actually have to hoard to trigger it... like save everything and never ever sell or salvage?

My end-game file first time around was 5.2 and I'm currently at the parade stage my second time and it's 4.8.

Look closely at your save files. I have many instances of save files being smaller than previous ones.

A quest just ended. Some dude with a crotch mod I was rescuing, but I crashed head on and he ran away, so maybe not a bug. More like smart guy decided his crotch implant challenge was a better risk than my driving?

Police AI. Reminds me of guards in Ultima Online. Try to help and do them a favor, then they turn on you. Even if you didn't accidently headshot a few.
Hope I'm not jinxing myself, but really, not a lot to complain about.
The way I'm playing now, selling a lot of what I pick up, I tend to go from almost full inventory to almost empty quite often. It's just the luck of the draw when the save happens but if I save before selling and after selling my after save file is definitely smaller.
It also saves a lot of game conditional stuff of course so the more you play, the more missions you complete, messages you have saved, etc. the larger the file gets. A fresh save at game start is only about 1.2 MB so there is "organic growth" in addition to inventory related up and down fluctuations.
But none of that is caused by saving more. Stand in a spot and save the game 10 times and you will see that all saves from that batch have an identical size.

I'm not sure what the exact timing and triggers are but even if I haven't made my own recently and I die I have never lost more than a minute or two of progress.

The heat will die down, but now there's always going to be people who'll use this as an example as if it were a massive failure. Certainly, the last-gen console mess up was an utter failure, but I think a lot of the hate is blown way out of proportion. I'm having an amazing time playing the game despite its flaws.

I doubt they have the resources to buyout all their shareholders with the prospect of massive refunds looming, and even if they did some may not be inclined to sell.
This likely isn't a viable option.
Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

First of all the FACT that these various refund avenues have stated a TIME limit is a problem. Most won't likely realize the save file corruption issue until they have played long enough to lose their refund status, see why that is ALWAYS a problem.
Personally i feel game devs can stick their copyright excuse up their ass,if your product fails at ANY point during gameplay NOT allowing a player to finish said game then a refund should happen,no matter 5 hours or 500 hours of use.
Developers must be held accountable for their products, they are more than happy to take our money but not when comes time to be held accountable.
What i find laughable is these devs always manage to find excuses, like with this they claim the game was not meant for long term gameplay...LMAO.
How many viewers saw ANYWHERE ANY mention of this pre sales? So imop if they KNEW this was an issue and kept it a secret/hidden they knowingly purposely sold a broken product therefor ALL buyers should get a refund with NO excuses otherwise.
Sadly we still need loads of new definitive clear cut laws protecting consumers from the gaming industry standards.
THIS particular product "Cyberunk 2077" would have to fall under the "misrepresentation" category of law. However if they withhold information that is pertinent to the buyer or don't tell you anything at all it becomes a problem. As is it is typically just understood as a part of bad ethics, morally incorrect and not a definitve law breaking act except in a few cases such as public safety for example.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
So a gamer did several tests saving his files BEOFRE hitting the 8.xxxxx file size to see the exact threshold and began his tests.
So he found out that even if you deleted or dropped or whatever method was used to LOWER the file size it would NOT lower the file size.GOOD JOB CDPR.
It doesn't end there either as file ID's would also be reused and not deleted so eventually your items would share the same iD and ......good job CDPR ...lmao.
Good job RUSHING out your game for the holiday sales and good job on your publishing partners not in on the refunds until AFTER a large public outcry.
Time and time again people ...gamers need to STOP high fiving these games...developers before they really know the product and the developer.Even worse I saw a few people trying to curb the blame away from CDPR by claiming forum users are just hating or this somehow has something to do with forum users AT ALL.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I bet they do like MOST all beta testers do,they just treat it like some FREE gaming and if they happen to find something easily noticeable they report it...maybe.
However THEY CDPR claimed the game was NOT meant for longterm gameplay which imo is implying they KNEW of this issue.I mean they HAD to know the file limit size alone says that somebody inside KNEW.
So in reality this is not abotu testing, this is just a SCUMMY developer that tried to pull a fast one figuring nobody would actually grind enough to hit that file size.It still coems back to the fact they MUST have known but simply did not care,we need this out NOW while sales are hot.
Besides most top execs get their bonuses based on that year ending quota/sales so all the big boys at the top were definitely PUSHING this game out no matter what.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Seeing as gamers often have incompatible preferences, this isn't surprising. Some want games without delay while others want them held back until ready. This is nothing new, and always a no win situation as some will be unhappy no matter the method chosen. Developers are aware of that going in, so I doubt these reactions impact release dates much at all.
It is far more likely CDPR promised to investors that the game would be released early enough before Christmas to benefit from seasonal sales, and ultimately had to make good on that by rushing the game out the door. CDPR having to adjust their work methods due to Covid-19 likely contributed to the unfinished state as well.
