Warframe's Digital Extremes Promises to 'Remain Creatively Independent' After Tencent's Leyou Purchase | MMORPG.com
On the back of Tencent's buyout of Warframe's parent company, Leyou, the developers behind the game have assured that they will remain creatively independent.
Saying one thing to the public (to hype or placate) then doing another under the terms of a contract can be wildly different & the contract will usually take precedent since it has the financials tied to it. Wait, see, & hope they keep their independent direction.
"Tencent is well known for respecting the creative decisions and integrity of its studios, and for giving them the autonomy and independence to experiment, innovate and thrive.”
warframe doesnt respect the player's time , just so many missions are like "sit and wait here for 40 minutes" while easy `1 hit kill enemies spawn endlessly while you wait, just boring shit
Majority shares and independent doesn't sound right.
Talk is cheap, they can say anything they want to fluff up the PR,doesn't mean any of it is true. Then the "wording" is also very important, sure "creatively"they may be independent but the rest of the operation may turn into a shit show.
It is like going to the worst auto paint detailer in the country but he tells you "I will give you my very best work".See BEST work sounds positive right, depends how you spin the words again doesn't mean that BEST work will turn out good.

I don't like games that waste my time, yet I enjoy wasting time in games... isn't that $%^#$ weird?
Anything that keeps you from doing something you want to do is not respectful of your time, so play what is fun to you.
Better than EA assimilating them and then destroying them like they do with so many. Tencent may be hated in some circles - "they're Chinese donchaknow" - but they don't try to remake what they buy in their own image.
"Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak when they once only spoke at a bar after a glass of wine, without harming the community ... but now they have the same right to speak as a Nobel Prize winner. It's the invasion of the idiots”

Agreed it's why i love mmorpg's so much, progression.
No matter how much time i can throw at them whether it be a little or a lot (preferably the latter ofc), and where much of that is based on playing the same mmorpg's (2) over years and years, it's all of some value. Never wasted, always improving, the time invested results are always perceptible.
