I was curious if a Surface Pro 4 with the i7 processor and 16GB of RAM would be able to run games fine. Any input would be appreciated about specific MMOs would be nice. Thanks in advance.
The only MMO tested I noticed at a glance is GW2 but you can ask about specific ones there.
But the short answer is yes it will play MMOs as long as you're willing to tweak resolution and other settings.

What Torval says is true - games will run, but not with eye candy and not well in all cases.
However, The Surface is very nice for Steam In-Home Streaming (or XBox streaming), where you have another more powerful computer doing all the work and your just using the surface as the screen.
Not "fine" unless acceptable framerate at low graphics is what you call fine. Sadly, a lot of ram and a I7 CPU isn't enough to run games well, you actually need a good GPU as well.
Don't just look at it saying Core i7. That's a ULV, dual core Core i7, not at all similar to a desktop Core i7. The nearest desktop equivalent is a low clocked Core i3.
Don't get a Surface Pro unless you really want the form factor and are willing to give up a lot of performance as compared to a larger device more geared toward gaming. The lower performance is fine for some purposes, such as web browsing or watching videos. But games aren't the same as web browsing.
I was hoping to get something that could run a deep game while sitting on the couch with the gf. She bitches when I spend to much time on the desktop. I appreciate the feed back, I have much to consider.

Here's something else for you to consider: if she bitches about you spending too much time on the desktop, she'll also bitch about you sitting on the couch with your Surface Pro still not paying attention to her

I use Android tablet + NVidia gamestream for that purpose. It works well enough as long as I can stay within my wifi network's range.
There are a few options available. First, you could just use Steam to stream from your desktop to a laptop (or MS Surface).
If you have an XBone, you can do the same as what I mentioned above.
There is also the option of using a Nvidia Shield (Portable or Tablet) if you have the right hardware. I personally use a Portable and I absolutely love it.
This isn't my video, but it gives you a good example.
This is along the line of what Iselin said, but if your girlfriend complains about you using a desktop too much, her complaint probably isn't your choice of form factor. You don't want to spend a bunch of money on a tablet that she complains about for the same reasons as your desktop. So basically, you should talk to her before buying something.
