Personally, I think if you have spent thousands of dollars supporting a game, you should have some sort of advantage. That aspect of Star Citizen doesn't bother me a bit. Gameplay skills will determine things much more in the longterm. Always remember, longterm is the watchword.
As far as the Babbabs lines go, they're useful, for the breathless sycophancy on display. Anyone following the talk for any length of time will see the true believer aspect. And since it will take forever (ie years and years) the continual excuse-making will be evident. It's a lifestyle, for them and the developers, not just a game.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

The biggest advantage is getting access to early play, the experience, knowledge and social connections you get from playing early is much more valuable than any amount of money you could put up front.
As for my "true believer aspect" it's not like reality *has proven me wrong.
Back in 2016/2017 many here were doing victory laps claiming Star Citizen demise or eminent collapse I was calling that nonsense out and stating that funding was fine and in fact it was just going to go up, which it did.
When many, and you specially, were pointing fingers to Chris Roberts as the sole reason for the game's delays or development hurdles I kept stating that it was mostly due to the nature of developing ambitious games, crowdfunding and the fact that creating game studios from scratch while you work on prototypes AND engage with your community is bound to create setbacks that can't be predicted, hence the change of plans mid development and delays.
Again, reality and time has shown exactly what I've said before. Multiple Crowdfunded MMO's, from different developers facing the exact same hurdles, changes of scope, plans and delays as Star Citizen.
-Camelot Unchained, Ashes of Creation, Pantheon, Crowfall and other's crowdfunded games have shown how hard it is to juggle game development-building a company-keep community engaged.
All these projects, from completely different dev's have gone through more or less the same hurdles of Star Citizen so the theory that it's "All Chris Roberts fault" collapses easily.
Yours truly favourite developer Warren Spector (Ultima, WingCommander, DeusEx) which you loved to pit against Chris Roberts to demish it's accolades is going through the exact same hurdles (Delays, Changes of scope, Bail out from outside investor) doing it's new System Shock 3 game.
So yeah the excuse-making is evident, but as time and reality keep showing, it's not from this side.
As for my "true believer aspect" it's not like reality hasn't proven me wrong.
This is just so perfect...
That you have only a typo to pick up from that post just shows how right I am but Thx for pointing the typo English is not my native language after all.
He probably got banned for his constant spamming, sabotaging threads, mocking and ridiculing. And rightfully so, imo of course.
Unlikely or else all the posters who constantly troll spam every Star Citizen threads as other crowdfunded games for that matter, insulting games and it's backers would be banned for the same "crimes" lol
Before I respond to this let me just say that although I disagree with your arguments and arguing tactics in general I would never report you for the stuff you write. Let that be clear.
But. When you get banned ( and I haven't so what do I know) I think the first thing you would do would be to look at your own behaviour right? Not just immediately point at others and once the ban is lifted come out of the gates swinging, doing exactly what you were doing before. 9 out of 10 times its once own behaviour that gets them banned, not that of others. A bit of self reflection never hurt anyone.
As for the part quoting me, that wasn't my prettiest post. If you read further you can also see me toning down a bit, so, sorry about that. The difference between both sides, in general and imo of course, is that your posts are much more on a personal level and directly aimed at a person instead of a group or a game or a company, mocking them with a fair bit of baiting. The sheer volume of what you post, appropriate or not, also doesn't help. You literally drown out many other voices, by intent or not.
As for SC, who gives a f*k? Its just some game, even I do not lose any sleep over it and think my 45 bucks was well spend (and still is). Happy belated New years.

What arguments do you disagree with? And what arguiging tactics? I'm not trying to convince anyone to buy into star citizen, I don't care, and personally would be rather happy if all those who don't like it to stay away from it.
Whenever I point out the multiple misconceptions, half-truths or plain lies many keep spieling about this game to attack it is just for the sake of clarification and the bliss of exposing ignorance based on negativity for the sake of being negative.
You might have noticed that I put plenty more thought and effort in my posts than the majority here who don't really care much about actual discussing games or their development.
The main reason I eventually end up getting banned once in a while is because I get target by the same 2-3 users who've made their life goal to hate on Star Citizen and bring it down and they see anyone who showcases the game in a positive way or exposes their lies and deceipt as a threat.
You can confirm that by just inspecting the posting history of the user with who I was arguing with which led to my ban, a fresh account filled with plenty of bait posts adressed specifically to me like 1, 2 or 3. There's no surprise that I'm a target for these people when I've outlived plenty of their accounts already.
As for self-reflection, should go both ways doesn't it?
Unfortunetly it seems there's a free reign to hate on crowdfunded games and mock their backers without repercursion. It's a regular ocurrence to see comments like "X game is a scam and anyone still giving them money is a "insert insult here" and for sure nobody reports on that or cares about it, If I wrote something like "anyone who thinks X game is scam is a idiot" I'm sure the reports would be plenty.
Maybe it's all the jaded and bitter posters who cosntantly flood game threads they don't even play or care to spiel negativity for the sake of releasing whatever personal frustration they may have there wouldn't be a need to respond to them. There's no attacks posts there wouldn't be a need to make "defense" posts now would it!
In the end, like you said well, it's just a video-game. A highly ambitious and sought after one but none the less just a video-game.
But those who enjoy said games shouldn't be drowned by those who don't imo.

Self reflection works both ways indeed, but we were talking about your ban, not that of others. Like how you made this last post, its only looking outwards, not inwards.
And although SC is highly ambitious it isn’t really that sought after. Sought after would be a game like Animal Crossing that sold 30 million units in one month, not an EA project that has attracted less then 4 million people in 8 years.
Ahh well, welcome back

Was not I who reported you. Who else would I have to argue with over how terribly managed Star Citizen is? That's right, no one.
Exactly. Far too many people are concerned with trying to stop what other people can say. If someone finds Babs annoying they should simply use the ignore function. Then they won't care if he posts 100 times a day. If there aren't 2 sides in a discussion then it's just an echo-chamber.

Indeed we were, and everyone paying attention can notice how there's more lenience towards posters who aggressively attack games, dev's and supporters or backers of other games than there is when someone stands up against them.
Or else all the trolling and baiting that is posted in multiple threads about Star Citizen or it's backers along with other in crowdfunded games threads would get infractions under the same pretence.
Yes like Hamburguers will always be eaten by more people than high end full course meals for several obvious reasons.
Living and breathing virtual sand box universes experience with depth of gameplay and social-economic dynamics etc are usually sought after by people who take gaming more seriously and for longer time than the norm.
Casual and mobile like games that cater to the lowest common denominator will always be more appealing to the masses but hardly to anyone looking for complex and compelling gaming experiences whose learning curve is deep and hardware entry barrier is steep.
With studios focusing more and more on the lowest denominator and mobile it's no wonder that Star Citizen niche audience keeps growing since it's a genre being neglected for a long time now.

I learned a lot from this threat. For instance, that you can report people. Thanks.

With studios like this, may as well wipe your ass with the money and flush it down the toilet. That is all that is happening with it now.

Bad management is just that - BAD. That is what this company has. Maybe if the whales wouldn't throw money at them, maybe the game would actually be finished. As it is, right now, why would the kill the golden calf?

Keep politics out of it... left... right... independent... all have a fringe. I can easily site other party crazy theories and lump them into Biden supporters... I wouldn't though, because Biden is our new President and the majority of voters from any party aren't loons (typically vote on issues they care about).
