Login rewards are fine. Not login punishment sucks.
Red Dead 2 online login was streak was rewarding. Missing a login is mostly why I stopped playing. You miss one day and lose the whole streak benefits. Had it gone in reverse and you only lose a day or two of the streak that would have been much better.
Better yet don't make it a streak thing. Or perhaps something I can ignore. I was fine with xp bonus older games gave as a catch-up mechanic.
Best yet is make a game where if my buddy joins a few months down the line, we can still play together. I mentor down when we play or he is powered up. Make it so we can always play together in a meaningful way. City of Heroes did it well IMO.
It's the ultimate participation medal in gaming for just login in.
But hey, once you're there why not just click the mouse 2 or 3 times, spend $5.00 and spin the wheel? Now you're really playing!

I like login rewards, its just an extra thing for me to feel good about playing the game. I play games to feel good and have fun, its nice to be greeted with a small nice reward just for login in.
Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics. Reply Add Multi-Quote
You silly English type !!.Now go away, else i shall taunt thee a second time. I am ok with login rewards but not sure how they can be actually useful anymore than some cosmetic gimmick. If they try to lean in towards a cash shop then NO a big hell no.
Example don't give me any crap like 3 days added baggage space or 1 week mount crap.I like the ay FFXi does it,you get points to spend.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

If the game is good the draw to log in everyday is the simple fact the game is good. Devs should not have to bribe people to login with free rewards.

Why?
This alone raises a very large red flag in my mind.
Fishing on Gilgamesh since 2013
Fishing on Bronzebeard since 2005
Fishing in RL since 1992
Born with a fishing rod in my hand in 1979
Only if you are gambling...they dont hand them to everyone that walks in the door.
The game isn't even in alpha yet is it? THis is like issuing a state of the game press release before it has even begun.
