Adding a ton of unique weapons is cool (well with stats and names, not sure if they will look different).
But again, I hope the top nerds are quietly working hard on the real issue... endgame (lack thereof). May is coming...
pretty much 90% of the population will use lifestaff as their 3rd weapon for "FOOW" spamming purpose. Still, i hope the game has better traveling option aside from the expensive town travel system.
Disagree with everything you have said. It's a new game and more importantly it's a MMORPG. Why would you want to level fast through it? What's the point of playing this type of game if that bothers you so much? The end game is.. pretty much the end. In every single MMORPG with the exception of a couple that got RvR right the end game is doing the same raids over and over and over again... why do you want to rush to the end just to get to that?
This game, (when hyped) did offer some pretty cool end game possibilities... factions that grow and shrink. In practice, what they rolled out was gimp. From PVE invasions to PvP invasions, sounded cool... but terrible in beta for the masses (only 50 players from a faction/city can participate in the cool events when they happen, on a 1000 player server).
May is coming...
I mean, if you wanted to break things down to it's essential elements, why do you like leveling? It's just fetch quests and tutorials? Anything can be made to look bland when you spin it as such.
For me, end game is the goal because it's where most MMO devs tune there game the tightest. There's very few games that have leveling PvP that isn't wildly imbalanced to due to gear and skills acquisition. Even when you normalize levels, there's huge class imbalances. Same applies to any sort of group PvE content. It's always wildly under(mostly) or overtuned(sometimes) in most games. I don't raid anymore, but it's literally the most quintessential element of the genre, imo, as it most closely resembles pen and paper RPG dungeon crawls.
Most importantly, end game is where all players ultimately end up, so it's where most of your MMOing in an MMORPG is going to be. Let's be real, you can count on one hand the amount of MMOs that have been on the market for more than 1 year and the leveling experience isn't a barren single player experience.
Okey, destroy someone who wants to be a healer, let everybody use lifestaff. How is this a good ideea? to let a spear and axe player to use a staff to heal himself?
It looks nice but its just not a good enough base to build upon, no ones learning the lessons of Anthem and "the Avengers" and are just churning out pretty looking stuff which cant hold a playerbase.
Pretty sure most of the people posting here are older folk so .....
