    This doesn't help the setup.
I was making my own Atlas server no problem and this ip login idea was something we already did back in the 90's.They should have had the very basic core of setup and enter finished LONG ago.

Personally the bed restriction is just such a dumb idea i would be changing that right pronto.

I don't ever in my entire life remember a bed telling me it can't be a bed without a roof or the wrong tile, well because a bed can distinguish what is the right tile....right?

I just soooo many idk how to even say it,so many bad design ideas, ugly enemies, sketchy AI,a huge lack of Zaxis, mostly just ground level stuff.

The boats look like 1 week of design put into them, needs a HUGE amount of work there for customization. The huts needs a HUGE amount of customization.

The interaction should be 100% and not only some trees, some rocks can be interacted with.I get it if a part of the layered landscape but this is not the case,it looks like a limitation on nodes.

If this game was done >>RIGHT...complete,i doubt it would even be playable because of gpu lag.
    Point being.
So they have a LOT of work to do to actually warrant anymore news.

I imagine, if one were to think one step beyond what you said, that a bed would require some sort of shielding from the elements. Otherwise it wouldn't really be restful. That's probably why there is a requirement, if this is indeed what you are saying, for a bed to have a roof.

As far as "right tile," again, it could be a nod to a tile on a slope or on rocks or any such thing that would make a bed not be usable as a bed.

The larger problem here is that there is absolutely no game in existence that covers everything you want.

That means either you are a visionary, I sort of doubt that, or it's problematic to get all those things in a game, OR eventually the developers decide they want to take their game in another direction "for reasons" and you then become disillusioned.

I'm going to try this out tonight. If it works as I expect it will be very convenient.

Currently joining our hosted server requires opening the Steam server window and connecting to the server. This is because our server doesn't show up in the Community Server List window. So to join our server I have to:

    1. Open the Steam server window from Steam menu View > Servers.

    2. Open Valheim.

    3. Tab out to the Server window and join our server (I have it in Favorites).

    4. Authenticate with the password in the window that pops up.

    5. Tab back into the game and select "Start" with my character.

    6. Paste the server password into the authentication window that pops up.

It isn't that big of a deal, but it is a little clunky. Hopefully this will bring it down to a couple steps of pasting in the IP:Port and then pasting the password into the auth window.

Well done to to Iron Gate AB for addressing this so quickly.

When you try it make sure to add port too, I only need the ip to get onto my friends server through steam but using the same info in the launcher ip box nothing happens.

edit actually what I use for steam also had port number, so for some reason the in game launcher option isnt working for me at least.

Greetings, MMORPG family! I opted for a multi-player server on Notecraft (.com) .. Never used them before, but definitely impressed with their service. Playing with my offspring on a non-interrupted world. I was able to apply the update/patch today w/o any issues. Having lots of fun with Valheim that surpasses the $20 entry fee and price of a hosted server. The new patch makes it easy to join via IP:port w/o having to delve into Steam>Valheim>Properties settings. It will be nice when they have a favorites list that doesn't require us to copy/paste in an ip:port each time. I'm having MUD+EQ+touchy-feely-vibes I haven't had in quite awhile. This game is fun. Don't let early access put you off. *salute*

I swear almost every time you post your "thoughts" about a game, mid way through I think about the fact that rolling around in my own diarrhea may be a better use of my time than continuing to read this nonsense... alas I continue to read only realizing I was right and I should have done literally anything else than continue to read your nonsense ranting.

The amount of bullshit in what you typed is amazing.

Every survival game has restrictions on building things. What difference does it make that the bed requires a roof? Such a petty thing to whine about.

The boats are modeled directly after actual Viking longboats, I don't even know WTF you are talking about with the boats. These aren't pirate ships.

The only things you can't interact with are the runestones and the entrances to troll caves, burial grounds and crypts. Every other bush, rock, tree, stump, plant or anything else can be chopped down, mined away or picked up. You can also actually change the landscape, something Ark, Atlas and Conan don't have.

    TLDR;

You have no clue what you're talking about.

"You can also actually change the landscape, something Ark, Atlas and Conan don't have."

My current project is making and island in a storm from a little spit of land that only showed a bit when water went down in wave surges.

One thing I have not seen him do though is attack other posters, even though he gets insulted himself all the time. That's commendable.

I honestly think he posts nonsensical gibberish on purpose... probably gets off to people raging on him. I can't imaging he even believes half vomit he spews out on these forums.
