Blizzard has run out of things to remaster, and as such they are starting to look at some "new stuff," according to a new interview with CNET (via GamesRadar+).

Blizzard hasn't produced anything worthwhile in over a decade. Blizzard is no longer capable of producing anything worthwhile, All the talent left that sinking ship yrs ago.

They may be looking for some new stuff but they have no class anymore, therefore i couldn't care less what they are working on.

I'll be around for WoW Classic for as long as they keep it going but the credits go to totally different people than what Blizzard.. *Activision*... Blizzard *Activision*... is today.

Their best bet is to absorb other studios at this point. The brain drain has been real and Activision's heavy hands are a huge detriment. Activision could remove Blizzard's name and I wouldn't blink. That company is dead.

Blizzard is no different then activision at this point. Their Products are a shadow of their former selves.

Too many higher ups worrying about making massive profits instead of making a great game that attracts the masses to it. I honestly question if they can make another great title.

They should make a Censorship Simulator: CCP edition. Oh wait.

There is no such game developer company "Blizzard", maybe what you were thinking is Activision B.

In the year of 2021, it is the idea that been too outdated for gaming industry doing the same things all over again.
Just like MMO, this type of games already dead-off years ago..

It's hard to imagine them doing something with as big as an impact as their previous games. I think they should diversify and make many small games, some single player, some multiplayer, some casual, and some hardcore. They could discover a new IP they are genuinely enthusiastic about. I think this it is very important that the people designing the game aren't just "doing their job" but have a vision they are personally invested in - they have a dream and want to make it a reality, not for the sake of appealing to the masses, but to accomplish something personally meaningful. The thing that Blizzard lacks the most for me right now is authenticity.

Blizzard hasn't really release a game since 2015, which was when they gave up making another MMO and used the scraps to make Overwatch.

I wish they would make wow2 with a more adult theme with realistic graphics as opposed to the goofy cartoon game wow is. They could resurrect Titan or whatever it’s name was that was supposed to be a wow successor. Give me a fun sub based mmorpg of aaa blizzard quality that isn’t wow and I’d give it a good shot.

This is the exact thought process that has killed gaming in general... "I need a game with pretty realistic fancy graphics to have fun..."

Developers = Let's spend 70% of our time and budget on making this game look really realistic and fancy... Oh shit we also need content? Well fudge!

Stop fucking crying about graphics of games and cry about the lack of content... I would literally pay an absurd amount of money for a game with Diablo 1 graphics if it has fun and long lasting content.

Mark my words : Adham will ruin Blizzard.

There is a reason why Mike Morhaime left Blizzard and "retire" ain't one of it since he already started to invest and run a new company. Adham and the Ups from Activision are the reason why he left. He was the only one holding "ground" to this people.

Oh well, their luck is that they are remastering old games and they will still see money from me and that is thanks to the old crew, not the new ones.

I mean Ion is still at the helm of WoW, which by now he's the only one ruining not 1, but 2 WoW expansions..in a row. He's still there because of the friendship status he has with the Ups.

When Jay Wilson screwed D3, it took them 1 year to change the guy and good they did. But Ion? Nope..Fucked up BfA and now Shadowlands and he's still confident he's doing a "great job", lol.

Real Blizzard has /leavethechatroom years ago.

And the responses here certainly explain why ATVI stocks hit an all time high in 2/21 ..

Who is buying all these games..

       The mystery deepens...

Sales doesn't mean the product is good.

NSync, Justin Beiber and countless other god awful things have sold millions.

masses don't have a sense of quality and will blindly bandwagon on "popular trend" and throw their money away on shit

Hype sells - why do you think Blizzard, CDPR etc... spend more on marketing than game development?

Because they know that hype is more important than game depth and quality.
Hipsters also like crap that they peddle as good.  Good or bad is subjective and the only real way to determine what is or is not is sales and longevity....you need both.

    Gamplay depth us not subjective.

Diablo 2 had much deeper game depth than Diablo 3.

Path of exile has deeper gameplay than Diablo 3.

    Etc...

But more superficial but better looking game has more mass appeal.

Guess what Blizzard will go for?

Yep shallow, pretty polished mass appeal
No wonder your takes are so bad.

Depth is only good if people actually like your "depth".  You can have as much "depth" as you want in crap mechanics that people hate and guess what...you have a bad game.  The game is good if people buy it keep buying it...play it and keep playing it.  Games that are bad are flash in the pan games.  Just because you do not like the game due it its' lack of "depth" does not make it bad...makes you a hipster...lol.

As someone who bought in @ 6$ a share when Vivendi owned them its all good .. :)

If by CDPR you are implying OGTLF all there hype and marketing for Cyber 2077 got them exactly a near 4 billion(near 50%) shredded off in market value and a company teetering with disaster at this time ..

Heavy hype and marketing does not always work out ..

Polar opposite is Valheim .. ..

Ill add D2 Remaster will sell 8 million units ...without an exuberant amount spent in marketing ..

Which game has more depth in terms of character builds:

    PoE
    or
    Diablo 3

If this makes me a "hipster" - then man I am so glad to be one.

Diablo 3 is a pretty smooth but shallow in comparison to PoE

PoE doesn't have the polish, is war more clunky but has 100x depth.

Your false assumption is depth is the end all be all of good.  It is not.  One can be simple and be good.  Checkers is still a good game and so is Chess.  One is simple and one is very complex.  Lord of the Rings the novel is good and complex...Lord of the Rings movies are good and simplified.

Good is not defined by one characteristic.  Both D3 and PoE can be good as defined by different charcteristics.  Both met my criteria that people buy them, keep buying them, play them, and keep playing them.  Those are the only real statistics that one can quantify.  All the other reasons are subjective to the player.

Really WoW was about the only thing they did that I liked and it was basically taking Everquest, dumbing it down significantly, and putting in Warcraft lore...They made an RPG that 5 year olds could play and run on their toaster and it worked.

There is no "false assumption" - skill build/gear build depth is extremely important to ARPG games.

One can mathematically do the iteration on how many unique builds are possible in each game given the number of variables.

PoE has far more build possibilities due to how gear/skills are done than D3 - PoE simply has more variables that are customizable.

This is one characteristic - correct - but it is absolutely critical when it comes to ARPG depth.

To say that sales and number of players are the only quantifiable metrics is simply false.

those are qualities you like...not qualities that make something over all "good".  More customization does not equal good.  You might as well count the number of letter in a title.

Mobile is a cheap McD's burger at this point, while cheap and easy to make, the market is saturated to no end, with endless games on mobile, and everyone and their brother is jumping on. Sure the money is there, but they would be far better off buying a smaller company to make mobile games for them, and reap the profits without needing to put their name out there on a mobile game, which no doubt will give rise to all kinds of panic about some WoW game on Mobile and they don't need that.

However, given their size and clout in the gaming world, I think their next big venture should be to make a break out title for VR, which right now, is a very raw and truly untapped market, that allows them to be the next huge trendsetters in that landscape.

Just my feels on it. I mean, for me, that looks like the truly untapped arena of gaming, and their best bet if they really want to burn their brand into the future of gaming.
