I am glad some of you don't work for 911. I can see it now,
911 - what's your emergency caller - I need help 911 - Sorry I am going to need proof, some guy last week called in a prank call, so we need proof or we cant respond. Do you have any? LOL Proof
LOL, call 911 with a bunch of BS and see how that ends for you. Go ahead, do it.
The 911 operator will not send police to every and any call, a part of their job is to weed out the blatantly bogus from the legit.
On top of that, See unlike a typical retail company, when the Cops show up to validate your claim, (This is where you damn well better have Proof) if you lied, you can be arrested, fined, and even imprisoned.
I would wager a bet, almost all of us here, working in CS wish things worked like that, where we could Jail and Fine or otherwise Punish people for giving us BS at Work.
It would cut down on topics like this.. I'll tell you that.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.

Yeah I have seen people lie, I have also seen people tell the truth. My business deals with customer service. Yeah many are overblown. I once had a customer report an employee of mine drinking alcohol on the job, we rolled back some footage and sure enough was true. Its goes both ways, sometimes customers are just making it up. We value customers, and work hard to keep them. We investigate claims as best we can.
We don't just ignore emails, or have zero way a customer can report a grievance of an employee.
You say victims shouldn't come forward unless they have definitive proof? I would rather have the information then be blind to it. If enough testimonials are made a trend can emerge.
your post is way off.
I really hope you aren't genuinely comparing some video gamer possibly making inappropriate comments (or not) to a job where the people taking those calls have to take them all as if they are 100% serious? Because they do. Just like if you call 911 and you hang up they have to send police to the address just to make sure that everything is "ok."
And to the thread, yeah, he/she may or may not be a liar, someone looking for retribution because he was called on his behavior, or someone looking for retribution because he thinks he was unjustly banned. We don't know.
And sure, I get customer service. Worked in retail for years. Currently working at a top biotech company that has a very customer-oriented focus and even though it's "not my job" I walk product over to customers all the time to make their lives easier.
But we also know that when we find customers trying to game the system, trying to get product for vastly reduced prices by cheating and hiding things, that we learn to say "no."
So some person make this complaint and we should automatically believe them? because in my experience there are so many crappy people out there who in my opinion should be banned right off the bat.
And the developers certainly aren't going to come to some forum thread and explain how our poster wouldn't let something go and was belligerent and aggressive.
And who would we believe? And then that would be massively unprofessional in any case.
Worst case scenario this guy wouldn't leave it alone and the developers banned him/her. Best case he was just making conversation but the developers took it as if they were being challenged and they just don't have the patience for that.
After all, it's their game, their rules.
But I don't automatically give a pass to players unless I know them personally or unless they can make a compelling argument.

No I think you have it wrong, I am not saying to automatically believe all claims. But you seem to think that you are required to immediately disbelieve all claims.
No undeniable proof, disbelieve.
Your first instinct is to attack the person making the claim.

Do you not realize who you are dealing with?
We are gamers, gamers are so ridiculously full of bullshit that we coined the Phrase:
Screenshot or it didn't happen.
Because of all the BS that goes on.
If you are looking for a group that is just going to believe you, or trust your claims.. we ain't it.

I think it has more to do with what I said several times earlier.
And I'll say it again.
I've been on game forums for a long time now, and I've seen this exact thing all through the years and I've yet to see one person making any similar type of claim (and posting the e-mail, discussion), that showed me they were in the right.
What usually happens is that there is a claim that the developers are unfair, heavy-handed, don't listen, ban maniacs.
They then, after a lot of back and forth, post what was said and my first thought has always been "are you kidding? You can't see you were in the wrong."
every ... friggin' time.
I don't know if that says something about these people who run to forums with these claims or if it says something about people being clueless with regards to their conversations and what is considered acceptable or polite.
So sure, our OP might very well be correct but it started the same way, making a claim then it came out that it could be a disagreement about a discussion on the virus and that just makes me suspect there was more to that conversation.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

Ok well most stuff happens and there are not screenshots.
But according to you, everyone is full of BS, which means you are full of BS. Not only should we not believe anything you say, but should openly call you out as a BSer.
So all your little stories you tell, they are all just BS, unless you have screenshots right? I will be sure to remember that.
I think there is a big difference from taking a neutral stance, then openly taking a hostile side with zero data to show for it.

First of all, yer trying to make this personal, it ain't personal. I didn't invent the quote, it's been the way things are, Just the Nature of the game, and the players.
With that said... 0h hell yah..
Alright, well, it's far past time someone told you this, so, I guess I get to be the bad guy here, unfortunately, so, I'm gonna lay this out to you, when people read my posts, or your posts, or anyone else's posts, make no mistake, if what anyone says sounds, smells, or tastes like BS, ergo: does not line up, their stories change, or any of that, they are going to be written off as full of it.

Just like when you were making claims about being some endgame hardcore rock god gamer or something with that guy that quit the forums, and when he called out on that, you were totally found lacking.
So yah, sure, I BS, You BS, we all BS. It's part of being a gamer, no different than any other hobby, like Fishing for example.. you should have seen the size of the fish I caught last week, must have been a 100 pound goldfish, or something.

LoL first of all you misunderstood what I said. I didn't lie nor did I say I was the best. I said I play games end game, and go hardcore into them. I will stand by that. So you are just making something out of nothing.
What someone isnt a hardcore gamer when they doing server firsts and making leaderboards? You call that lacking? Yeah GG bro.

You know, I am not going to say I never lie, but I am certainly not proud of it. You act like its a badge of honor. How can anyone believe anything you say, when you admit to purposely doing it all the time, like its something you are supposed to do. Yeah I get you are spinning me up right now. Just like you twisting what I said. Done with you.
Ya know, a while back, and by a while back, I'm talking around 30ish years ago, I got into hunting. Truth be told, I have no idea why I did it, but I wager it was because I was young, and believed the hype about how hunting made you a real man. Personally, I found no joy in it, not my thing.
But, one thing always stuck with me, was when these young guys would come in, and talk about their hunts, their kills, and the like, and conveniently, none of them had a picture of their prized 22 point buck, no picture at all, not their head mounted, not the antlers on a skull, nothing.. zip.. nada, never mind the fact that you need to take a picture of the kill to validate your claim, often with the game warden or security personnel if private land.
Anyway, other guys would come in and brag about their kills, and often after a few beers, the best was always at the BBQ's, often at someone's house, where we would just shoot the shit, everyone knew I was a bad shot, so, I never even tried, I would crack jokes like: "Yah.. I think I killed a 12inch elm last week"
and they would be like "Do you mean a 12 point elk?"
and I would respond "No, I mean elm, I shot the shit out that tree trying to kill a rabbit"
Anyway.. getting back to the bravado thing, so these guys would talk about their kills and what have you, strangely, always missing two things to their story, visual proof, like a photo for example, and anyone that could legit back up their claim, like someone that had been with them on the kill, or seen the head in their trophy room, or anything.
And I'll be damned if every single one of them, wouldn't feign righteous indignation when called on it, often with a dismissive "Forget you guys" and a reaffirmation validation of "I know what I did"
I didn't stay around long enough to really see how that panned out in the long run to be honest, as I said, Hunting was never my thing, can't say there was a single thing about the whole process I enjoyed... well being a part of the hunting group, and hanging with them drinking beer at the backyard BBQ's during the summer was pretty good, but.. nothing about the auctorial hunting process directly was enjoyable to me.. To each their own on that one.
Anyway.. Gamers, like Hunters.. Screen Shot or it Didn't happen.
Now I should not need to tell anyone who supposedly lead a world firsts guild, and was a hardcore, top tier gamer, that you need to validate your claims for them to be taken seriously, as that is just common knowledge, it's a trope at this point. Just like asking for a picture of that 22 point buck.. funny how when called.. people magically lose the means to take a picture, but we can see their last 12 meals and a random picture of a tire on their phone.

Good story, my Grandfather used to have to take his clients out hunting and like you he enjoyed the drinking and eating back at the lodge, but traipsing around the woods, not so much.
He made sure to never be in position to take a shot but one day he stumbled across a suicidal deer who literally stood like 20 feet ahead, so he instinctively shot it without any real thought.
Experience totally disturbed him, especially the gutting and cleaning portion and he never killed anything again.

I admire your patience. I guess there are some who hear from 10 customers that the kitchen staff of a certain dinner pees into the coffee pot and decide to not frequent the business anymore and there are those who keep going until they see proof because it's probably a lie because...why not.
Project Gorgon, has a 9/10 rating on Steam, 7/10 rating on MMORPG, 3.68/5 on MMO.com, with an overall consensus of "Very Positive", even on Reddit there is a lot of good things to say about this game. With the overall major points of negativity being Graphics, and Optimization.
So, I get that everyone wants their butthurt 1 star review to be the crushing blow to a company, but reality check, If 10 people say they are pissing in the coffee and 1,000 people are saying that the coffee is made with pure evian® spring water, I, personally, would be hard pressed to believe the people that said they were pissing in the coffee, and that maybe, those people were pissing in their own coffee.

Well, yes, the few people (135 on average) who play like this game seem to like it but for pretty much every 2nd positive you see that the person did not play in the last 2 weeks. And that is in line with the steam numbers never picking up but actually having dropped heavily since going to Steam. And not everyone bothers to update their review after they stop playing, e.g. when they recognize what a slog and endless grind that game is. And that a lot of it can be automated by very simple macros. So go ahead and believe so many people who stopped playing what a great game if you wish.
And last but not least: They majority of players thanks god never experience issues with the mods. Heck a lot of the people who got banned played hundreds or even thousands of hours without any issues. BUT if you do you are fucked and completely at the mercy of one person. And that's my point, I was never banned beyond a day and could simply keep playing. But I did understand at that point that all the reviews about ambiguous bans by power tripping mods have some truth to it. And this wasn't the kind of company I wanted to support in any way anymore.
And anyway, I don't tell anyone if they have to like the game or the company. If you do - good for you. But please respect my opinions as I respect yours.

Again.. there are not all that many reviews about getting arbitrarily banned, even the OP of this topic, after some prying, openly admitted that they attacked and provoked the Admin/Moderator, which no doubt is what resulted in their ban.

Again, there are more than enough to be very suspicious about the company if you care to look.
So some person make this complaint and we should automatically believe them? because in my experience there are so many crappy people out there who in my opinion should be banned right off the bat.
No I think you have it wrong, I am not saying to automatically believe all claims. But you seem to think that you are required to immediately disbelieve all claims.

Me likee! You pressed the quote button three times (was your hand shaking from all the "respect" to the imaginary "fanboys"?) and now your post shows three times in oversized bold font: "Screenshot or it didn't happen."
And now I deleted even my comments yea my hands are shaking but not from all the respect :P

Heh I know, was just messing with ya. The commenting/quoting functionality of this site can be very wobbly. Not your fault.
Besides, it was clearly fear and awe of your posting skills which were the cause.

Brainy - I have to agree, screenshot your claims. Multiple claims, I expect a trove of screens... not a poach from the internet.
As to the OP, already caught adding to his story. BS is strong.

Wild Boar Hunting is quite common in Malaysia. The pigs have gored many a poor dog in the rubber estate my grandfather used to work in. I really hated it to death but my uncles used to hunt them. The meat tastes very different from pork.
Malaysia has Indians, Chinese and Malays mainly in our population. The Malays are Muslims and although I have had Malay friends who hunt the wild boar they never eat the meat because of their religion. The Indians and Chinese of course have no such restrictions since we are of different religions.
The hunting is especially common in the rubber estates and palm oil estates. The boars love to eat the palm friut. I really used to run and hide when they came back with a kill.
Indonesian but also found in Malaysia, dangerous like hell.
Here's Video. Sorry they are mainly talking in Cantonese, Hokkien and Malay bit of English thrown about but I doubt you can understand anything but you can watch the kill.

Naah, as far as I can tell the OP is absolutely right. I used to defend PG the same way you do until I experienced it first hand. Thing is, the mod does not tell you "I ban you in 5,4,3,2,1, don't forget to take a screenshot. Now.") In my case he was like "who's moving?" addressing me and someone else and 30 seconds later I was gone. Again, it was just for a day so it would have been easy to just shup up and keep playing but I decided for myself that the company is not the type that I like to support (besides the gaming getting old very fast). And the OP has once again shown me how right I was.

No I think you have it wrong, I am not saying to automatically believe all claims. But you seem to think that you are required to immediately disbelieve all claims.
No undeniable proof, disbelieve.
Your first instinct is to attack the person making the claim.

You can't see you were in the wrong."
every ...
friggin'
time.

AKA: a BSer
This It's no different anywhere in life, People do not take what you say at face value outside your direct professional work, and even then, you get about 1 fuck-up before you discredit yourself. This does not matter if you are at watercooler at work, at play, people talk trash all the time, they lie, they embellish, they basically BS. Even if they do not call you out, does not mean they remotely believed you.
Just like the age old Hunting Lodge Joke: "The First Liar ain't got a chance in this place"
Welcome to Gaming 101.
It's Nothing personal, just the nature of the game.

He made sure to never be in position to take a shot but one day he stumbled across a suicidal deer who literally stood like 20 feet ahead, so he instinctively shot it without any real thought.
Experience totally disturbed him, especially the gutting and cleaning portion and he never killed anything again.
Cheers.

Yah, Umm that was a, umm.. yah.. not even sure how to respond to this one. I will say, that, yah. That, unless that is what you wanted to do to start with, it, the whole thing, just never sits right with you, and, I know, maybe like many others, I got into for the wrong reasons, and that is also why I didn't last either.

Don't waste your time on the steam forums, they are heavily redacted and allow the game makers to ban you for negative reviews.
I have played dozens of MMORPGS over the last 40 years. I have never been banned from one.
I have almost 8000hrs in PG, and can get banned in a heartbeat, for nothing.
I went from 30 days, to 180 days to permanent, without ever logging in to the game.
My roommate has also been perma banned just for asking what happened.
