Crystal Dynamics finally released the long awaited, and modestly anticipated character, Hawkeye, in Marvel's Avengers last week. Hawkeye has flash and sizzle, but the update puts Crystal Dynamics in a precarious situation. One that even a roadmap can't cure.
Comments
* Characters people actually want to play (Spiderman, Black Panther, Daredevil, Dr. Strange, Xmen, Scarlet Witch, and Deadpool to name some obvious ones).
* Patrol zones. (I'm hopeful for that "wasteland patrol" on the roadmap.)
* More variety in their enemies.
* More endgame content.
Also, while releasing the next gen version now was good for their players, it was a bad decision. That was their biggest possible saving throw, and they needed to use it as a reminder that this game exists AFTER adding the above to make it worth reminding people.
The fact the first new characters were female hawkeye and hawkeye, shows that they might not have thought this through all the way. I keep expecting thinking this was published by EA the way they pound the "Game as a Service" model down your throat.
Or some of the maps into open roaming with random respawn???
Great they spend all this time on new chars... but maybe dont spend all the time just on that?
As far as content goes, the story was great. I really enjoyed playing through it. There endgame is boring as hell. If you don't really have a plan to add more story content faster then you better have engaging endgame content. Don't even get me started on having to take longer to level up each and every character if you hadn't done it already.
Hawkeye and Diet Hawkeye are petroleum jelly when what this sandwich needs is raspberry jam.
