Final Fantasy 14 has announced the long-standing MMO has hit the 22 million registered users milestone as the team released a trailer for the upcoming 5.5 patch coming April 13th.

    22 million registered users so their 21.8 million homes behind the promise of a home for everyone or maybe 175 million homes if it's one for every character. It's a lot either way.

    Isn't 22 million registered relatively small for a game with a free trial?

    I've thought about playing FFXIV again recently but keep remembering how "on rails" it all is.

    I'm lucky I keep going in for a few weeks when updates hit. Which means I'm atleast up to date and I can enjoy the latest stuff. But somehow I'm bored pretty fast after that. Everyone is leveling 'all their classes' or 'all their crafters' or getting every special 'relic' weapon.

    Somehow I can't be assed to do it, and there's many more like me.

    I'm currently subbed to ffxiv and it's a decent game. Mostly working on getting all of my stuff to 80 before the xpac. Also just finished my first ever Zodiac Zeta weapon for my Ninja. I'll never do that again, talk about mind numbing...took me like 2 weeks, too, yikes. I can't get anyone to play it with me though, cause they know about the main story quest debacle and refuse to pay to skip it (don't blame them). Forever alone XIV. RIP.
