Played EQ for the better part of a decade, and EQ2 from beta until about 7 or 8 years ago, I guess. SO.MANY.MEMORIES. Just reading this article and everyone's comments made so much of it instantly come back like a tidal wave. Our guild setting up first aid stations at the Blackburrow entrance... playing multi-guild hide & seek and drunk-puppy (omg SO fun to watch) in Qeynos... Making new friends and working on spells while waiting for the spires in the Karanas... FINALLY attaining whatever level that was where you finally got SoW as a Ranger, then excitedly going to meet up with friends to tell them in person, accidentally falling down the elevator shaft, and instantly dying and losing your 2-minute-old level (and new spell)... lol.
I've tried over the past few years to log back in to both EQ and EQ2, but it just wasn't even close to the same, and it completely creeped me out to see places so empty that used to be so packed with people. And I hate the whole krono thing so much!! Like a lot of you, I think it really ruined everything. Like several others have commented, I would be all over a TLP server that was krono-free!
For the serious old-timers.. Who else remembers this?
