Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

This game will go the same way Astellia did. It uses the UE3 engine, and gameplay was pretty bland when I played for a bit in the korean servers.

But people swear it will be fine!

Forgetting that the little hosted thing for Bless Online where the devs flew people out to test the game and those people swore the game ran smooth. Hell, even people swore the game ran smoothly "on their systems" when it launched. It doesn't matter how much logic there is when you have people too desperate for something new and the patience of a toddler even when its announced.

Bless online DID run smooth for many people. For others it didn't. Differences in system configurations does affect performance. There's many videos online of people running the game just fine and others lagging horribly. The problem with Bless was that they were never able to identify what caused the disparity in performance on similar systems.

Not sure why the game changed its name, but is that usually a bad sign to start off? I have only seen that once I think with Wolcen and that game totally changed direction after the kickstarter was done.

This game change team? Finances changed? The base idea of the game change with the name?

Aerial combat with big steampunk machinery is not the main premise of the game anymore.
Actually, aerial combat as a whole is almost non-existent right now compared to previous iterations. There are just a few aspects of aerial combat left in the game.
There is a questing area that consists of floating islands with some of the quests in the area done on steampunkish flying ships and player flying, but that's pretty much it from what I could gather.

What does it mater if servers are in Cali? Ping is less an issue than back in the day, unless you are still on dial-up.

Looks so generic and not interesting at all.

Apparently it's the same if not more grindy than BDO(expect minimum +6h/day to stay relevant at all). At least from what i've talked with some of KR people in dm's, game runs surprisingly well for what it does. Although the systems and p2w features pretty much guarantee p2w game in the west too so you decide what you want to do.

Back in the day I played CoH on US servers from the UK before servers came to Europe. As long as we are not talking FPS it should not be an issue.

It ran smooth in Bless because they literally removed NPC's from the main cities.
