Over the course of the past two decades, many MMORPGs have come and gone. However, a few stick out as must plays for the genre, at least in the community. Unfortunately, not everyone has been able to play every major game to grace the annals of the MMORPG genre, especially those games that have shut down over the years. Is there an MMO you wish you played before it was shut down?

    tabula rasa, even that i played i felt like the game had so much for it, it was ahead of time, too good combat, too good npc onthe field nice story and everthing.
    wy richard had to fight nc...
    the game was adction and i was playing on potato machine

    Phantasy Star Universe and its expansion Ambition of the Illuminus... i know that there is clementine server, but they dont have the online story eps

    Wildtstar was fun, I wish I could have had more time with it, but I struggled with the boss combat. SWG is probably the choice for me as well. I tried many games that came out Tabula Rasa, Guild Wars 2, Wildstar, Age of Conan, Rift, LotRO, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, EVE, Elder Scrolls, NeverWinter.. And more.. and I think I only played a few of those to a certain progression point, to where the community struggled. So even going back.. I less wan to try something as have others try something, so we can play together.

    No. I've been at this since Asheron's Call in 1999 and I've played all of the ones that interested me for short or long periods. If I didn't stick around in one it was because it just didn't do it for me.

    I just started playing Vanguard and loved it and it was announced a week later that it was closing. I didn't technically miss it. Aside from that, nothing really I think I played them all.

    Nah, not really. I'd be the one who drinks alone in a corner and shakes head for the other people's stupidity. But if the parties are lousy enough and no one even comes i'll also leave and find some other place.

    DAOC and WAR were amazing, amazing games. I wish I got to play more Marvel Heroes. But they gave people the entire kitchen sink eventually and couldn't make ends meet. They got out when profit margins hit single digits.

    THE ONLY GAME THAT I HAVE NOT PLAYED THAT WAS SHUT DOWN I REGRET NOT PLAYING WERE THE WHOLE EVERQUEST/NORRATH ONLINE FRANCHISE BEFORE EVERQUEST 1 AND EVERQUEST 2 ON PC. I MAINLY MISSED THOSE BECAUSE I'M NOT SO MUCH OF A CONSOLE PLAYER. MOST OF THOSE WERE CONSOLE.

    "RUBIES OF EVENTIDE"

    This game was a gem that hardly anyone knew about or played......Everything in the game was a blast EXCEPT the combat.....It's too bad they could never quite get that working right, but the crafting system was simple and fun, and the way they did the classes was as good as any game I have played.

    As for games I didn't get to try but would have liked to:

    Asheron's Call
    Early SWG (I finally got to play in its last month)
    FFXI (played it way too late too but didnt like it at that point anyway)
    Tabula Rasa
    Kyleran

    SORRY, IT'S DUDETTE, AND I READ IT WRONG FIRST SO WROTE DOWN LIST OF ONES I PLAYED THAT WERE SHUT DOWN THEN EDITED IT. I KEPT THE LIST ON THERE IN CASE PEOPLE FORGOT SOME I HAVE TRIED, OR JUST FOR PURE NOSTALGIA. CHILL :)

    I 100% with you on this. The only games that I never played that I missed out on were maybe Neverwinter on AOL(just to have experienced it) and Odyssey when it was at it's peak.

    I've played them all at some point of another.

    But if there was one I wish could get a facelift and be re-released it would be SWG.
