Not really, have been there for most of the games that i would ever care to play... Including the rather insanely over-hyped Star Wars galaxies... I was a Image Designer with a side gig as a entertainer and running a tailor alt... No.. i did not like the combat system in SWG...Thank you for asking... But i did not really enjoy that SOE dropped pretty much all support for ID´´s the second the game was released and they only took a look at ent´s once people started to ask why it was a recomendation for people to have a ent mule...
But if i should think about a game i miss that has shut down, it would be the adorable but broken City of Heroes. Many good ideas, lot´s of poor execution. But still such a joy to play.
MMO - Vanguard and S.U.N Online (Soul of the Ultimate Nation)
Online shooter - Massive Action Game (M.A.G) on the PlayStation 3. A three faction pvp shooter with up to 255 (85v85v85) people going at it. That was a lot of fun.

I stumbled across Earth & Beyond the week they announced the closure and suspending of account creation.
I feel like some of the roughest ones on this list are the games that shut down before Youtube was big and video capture was common, can't even go back and watch gameplay.
SWG was an amazing game until the whiners on their message boards, which were seldom visited by dedicated players, ruined everything. It could have been a phenomenal game.
I still think SOE was just using EQNext as a lure to get people to buy Landmark...i dont really think they had anything going. Maybe they thought the players could design a game for them if they gave them the tools?

I believe it was the opposite... it only had EQ for a short time, pretty soon they've removed it from the title and was just Landmark, and it was a really nice builder game for quite some time.
Then the EQ Next project was cancelled, and they've tried to "build" upon Landmark instead, added combat, gear and all that crap - which in return has killed the game fast.
Yep, if anything SOE / EQ Next did for it, was the opposite of lure.
(That's why the early title change as well, they didn't want people to "buy in" Landmark as an EQ game and then complain it's only a better looking Minecraft...)
Vanguard and Tabula Rasa, I purchased the collectors edition of Tabula Rasa and it was shut down soon after. I played Vanguard a bit. It was beautiful with wind and swaying trees...
I have always regretted not getting into Word of Warcraft, so I am so happy that WoW Classic is now around. It makes me feel drawn to that world again, like I was as a child.
For as long as i live i will likely NEVER have the problem of not playing a MMO i want to play. The reason is simple,FFXI is the only mmorpg i ever liked and even if that shut down it would likely survive through private servers and might even invigorate even more private servers.
If a game truly disappears forever it probably deserved to disappear because it was no good.
As i say this there are millions of people who find enjoyment from a grain of sand so there is always going to be some game somebody sheds a tear over.
Lik there are people who will sit there hours on end clicking a casino machine and waitiing for the usual result of YOU LOSE over and over and over.I see people everyday in the corner stores buying tons of scratch n win tickets,i think it is EXCITING for them to scratch a LOSING ticket.
To anyone that is truly serious about GOOD quality games, then NO there will not be any game we sorely miss because private servers exist.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
