In a new rumored leak from the under-NDA portion of Amazon's New World, it's being reported that there will be testing on the premium currency which will be in the upcoming MMORPG. The note mentions cosmetics as being purchaseable, but makes mention too of convenience boosts, raising the question of whether New World will be pay to win.

    Lol nothing against KiraTV, just funny seeing a supposed news site referencing a content creator for news.... As for talking about boosts in a game that is also B2P and not even out yet, seems silly to me, but hey, I'm old fashion I guess. They seem pretty proud of themselves showcasing a 2 boss dungeon, so I guess go full force on monetization instead of worrying about content post launch....

    I'm ok with this. It's B2P so if done right is all good.

    The moment they go, for exemple, NcSoft "cosmetics" shop ( aka full items and armors, BiS even ), then i'll /quit it instantly.

    KiraTV is nothing but a guy who hates his life and feels the need to bash everyting and everyone.

    He is right most of the time- but when will the dude have something uplifting on his channel? Its like an endless void of negativity.

    Also I think everyone saw this comming.

    I'm fine with cosmetics, that should be something everyone's very used to at this point. Boosts on the other hand....

    I hate real world $ for boosts. Would rather craftable buffs.

    Best you can do is play and decide if it is too much and unacceptable. Even if  you don't support it, I bet your friends all will play and drag you along in any case because it is the new shiny game everyone is raving about. In the end you will play it so just give up now.

    Similar behaviour of a lot of posters in this forum, well except the fact of being right most of the time. ;)

    If it is like the ESO model I'm fine. Although I do miss the charm of everyone piece mealing non dyeable armor and looking like the riff raff you are until higher levels.

    KiraTV can sometimes be a bit negative, but that's partially dictated by a lot of the reviews he does, which are about questionable or outright scam crowdfunded MMOs.  Dude has been through a lot, though, and he's open about it.  He's survived stage 4 cancer, has depression issues, and now has a serious blood disorder.  So I think that he may just be in a bad place a lot of the time to begin with.  He does have a number of positive videos, if you look in his YouTube list.

    I kind of like how GW2 shop is done everything is cosmetics and the only boosts i can think of are just so you can get instant lvl80 characters and a handful of basic gear. But all the best stuff has to be crafted meaning ascended gear.

    If the boosts won't be in the retail version, Why are they in the alpha version?
    Why would I pay real cash for something in Alpha that won't even exist in the released game?

    Very unfortunate that someone would break trust as a tester and leak something that was under nda and was suppose to be tested by alpha testers and for us to provide feedback.

    Many Youtubers are like vultures looking for the next video to get clicks, but in this case, the Youtuber you brought up in this article was just recently invited by Amazon to be a part of the Expedition preview event. I was in the run with him.

    I like Kira, and he is now a huge influencer and I wish he would have thought about things before making that video.

    You don't pay in the alpha. They give you free currency to play with and test it.

    The key words here are "at launch".
    Covering themselves already for adding other stuff than cosmetics and convenience items to the cash store later.

    cool, they still got your money tho
    ..but they could have more since I'm ok with XP boosts, Crafting XP boosts, etc and even some cosmetics here and there.
