Need help finding a game

Aliantha_AngelAliantha_Angel Member UncommonPosts: 225
Ok, this might be a ridiculous ask, but here's what I'm looking for

has to have good graphics
a real player economy where if I like to grind or harvest or whatever I can jump in and get to work and resources, even low level ones have need and value
must have a good population not a dead world
not pay to win - effort has more value than swiping
does not need to be free, I don't mind paying for a good game

any games that fit this?

I don't care if it's fantasy, sci-fi, wild west...

thanks!

If you can get over the graphics CryFall is fun to jump into for a few hours at a time.

Kind of an MMO...they have PvP and PvE servers. It's like Rimworld meets survival meets MMO. Community on PvE servers are nice, PvP with all the zombies not so much unless you set up your own. It's free to try for 8 hours. I mostly play it as a time waster between games.

Thanks for this, I just can't, I need a pretty world and looking for something more than a time waster if possible.  Graphics are a big deal to me, doesn't have to be BDO quality but something visually satisfying.  I know I'm probably looking for the impossible but I could have missed something!

ESO has one of the best crafting systems I have seen. Every crafting profession can make you a ton of loot. Also with your crafting bag you never need worry about the constant work of sorting your crafting supplies. They are all worth keeping as well, as crafting mats are used at every level.

The graphics in ESO is still one of the best IMO

ESO is a mega server, so you can sell to every player in the game.

IMO ESO is not pay to win. They do have a cash shop but paid players, cash shop players and people who play for free. Really only have one advantage difference. Storage space. PvE and PvP, all 3 types of players are on even footing in combat.

don't you have to join crafting guilds to sell and you're limited to selling to those people?  When i played there wasn't a centralized auction house, did they change it?

If you want decent graphics then you're gonna have to wait for Elyon.

That or go play Second Life lol.

Ya and all guildes have fee's. The better your NPC vendors location they go for the higher your fee's. I play very casually and was a member of 3 crafting guilds and a PvE and PvP guild that all had vendors. I was able to keep up to the fees and make some real coin. When I left the game I had reached top crafting in every crafting type and I could pull down 1+ mill gold a week. Only game that made me feel as useful as a crafter was SWG.

IIRC, you can be in multiple guilds in ESO, so you aren't limited to only being in a crafting guild.

They probably found what we all have; all the pretty games are shallow, all the games with deep systems are Indie and few play. So back to playing what you like, some rando single player game or FFXIV like everyone else.

Im getting my MMO feel right now from Immortal Fenix Rising. Im a huge exploration fan and this game rewards you at every turn for exploration. Combat is really well done but you can also play for 2hrs and not fight a single mob as you explore dungeons that are all 100% puzzles. Im most likely gonna try New World.

For ESO fans like myself. MS is planning on overhauling their servers, most likely to a MS server farm with more power. So allot of the laggy game play will be fixed sometime soon. Maybe even for Cyrodiil. Wouldnt that be awesome.

You aren't limited to selling to guildmates. There is no centralized auction house, but an external site, Tamriel Trade Center, tracks what is on sale where and for how much. That makes the individual stores functionally quite similar to a single market.

You missed the early days of FFXi an awesome game and for it's era the graphics were fine.Even 5-10 years later you could as a noob earn a really good living as a noob because harvesting was so tedious people would rather buy than do the work.So i think you would have loved that era of gaming.

Now a days all these games you seek will be at end game,i despise end game talk.

There is also a very big problem within gaming economies and that is CHEATING.What cheating does is ruin it for the hard working gamer. This exact reason was why i quit Vanguard and not because of bugs.
I am goign to straight up call it as it is,devs are for the most part dumbasses and or too lazy to give a crap. All studios care about is that initial hook get you in to start spending money.

You don't have VERY few good choices as a noob, imo you have NO CHOICES.I already mentioned why>>>END GAME,the worlds will look and feel dead.I can again point at FFXI ,it used a sub class system so it meant noob zones stayed active for MANY years, the game design was better than ALL of the others.
Like i could recommend FFXIV my opinionated choice but you'll find early zones to be dead and most guild focus to be on that dreaded end game.

If there was a quality new game to play i would be playing it right now and i don't even need great graphics,i only ask for a HQ game.

Still a BS system though. I stopped playing due to no trade center mostly as my inventory got clogged with stuff too valuable to just throw out. You can join a trade guild but if you take any sort of break they kick you and you gotta get back on a waiting list for weeks to rejoin. Not a fun experience and the only reason why they have no trade center is to sell more ESO+ subs to people who need the crafting bag.

I didn't have enough interest in the game left to keep paying ESO+ and tbh the expansions started becoming dull after Summerset, plus they expect you to pay for each DLC to continue the expansion story, or again pay for ESO+.To each his own I guess. Maybe someday I'll feel like going back, but I took a break to play other things.

People manage just fine with it, so the BS you see in it is entirely a matter of opinion. How guilds choose to manage their affairs is not an issue with the trade system. It does make sense that if a guild is focused on trade for profit that they expect members to be productive. However, such a guild would want to retain valuable contributors, so I expect wouldn't quickly drop them if they had been informed the person wanted to take a break. If that person just up and disappeared, the axe might fall a bit more swiftly.

To each his own, as you say. Hopefully you have or will soon find something more to your liking. ESO seems to be doing well so will likely be about for a good while yet if you wish to come back some day. Good luck to you!
