"The tower of Malevolence" Back to writing school for that one, at least the region is not actually called "The color region", this is MMOs guys I thought it could be. :)

But apart from that I was impressed. Just gameplay being a question mark for be and that is the most important element of a game naturally enough.

It looks great, will probably be great, and many players will clamor towards this.

But gosh, part of me wishes this effort could have been put to a Tolkienesque type of game with dwarves and elves. Imagine this effort put into an EQ3 or a Middle Earth Online.

Oh well, will probably play this anyway. As a human ... BLEH.

That said, this IS the WOW KILLER.

Visual environment looks AAA that is about it.Not a fan of the combat and somersaults are a huge peeve of mine.

Peon got level 60 in no time ,so what is the point of levels if just skipping over them like they never existed?Well imo they had to give levels away for free because there are not enough quests.

QUESTS?Rushed well go loot a few chests then do the same quest again for 7 chests is like a lol super lazy quest design.Like could they put any less effort into them?

I have also seen way more linear hubs and lanes than i have open world.

The beginning is ok,nothing great and seems like a copy off of EQ2 but idk if Smedley had anything to do with that.IMO the start could be better but it does the job.

OPEN world,i need to touch on this again because all the players were following each other quest to quest in a linear fashion so i would say there is likely ZERO open world gameplay.

Did i mention the environment is visually ok,yes it is ,interaction idk likely very little if any.

So did they do a good job of at least making the world presentable,YES AAA as i stated ,everything else looks sub par.

Pretty game. I'm looking forward to it.
I agree with your first sentence but not so much with the second.

I'll probably pre-purchase on Steam anyway just to check out their progress in the beta... and probably refund it before release just like I did last summer if the combat annoys the crap out of me again

Not sure why they don't just open-up the beta for anyone interested. It's the best advertising they could do.

A lot of potential players are not aware that you can pre-order, play the beta and then cancel if you want. It's a great risk-free way to try it but all the confusion with early access games, which can only be refunded after 2 hours of game play since they're considered "released as is," keeps them from doing the pre-purchase just to try it.

WoW killer? Where have you been? WoW is no longer the top MMO anymore.

FFXIV took it's crown recently as it far surpassed it's user and subscriber base by.... a lot, i'll just say that.

WoW is no longer the top MMO anymore.

Nowadays to make a game look nice is easy. Look even tools like UE4 and UE5 are free.

But to make a game play in a way that's fun and has high replay value. None of the AAA games that released in the last 5-6 years has achieved it. All their development goes into graphics and the gameplay is barely there.

If you have ever truly explored Middle Earth in LOTRO you would know more than this effort went into it. The landscape across Middle Earth is as vast, beautiful, and intricately detailed despite dated graphics as any MMO I have played.

TBH the visuals look like ESO to me, which isn't the most appealing style.

Agreed. If the gameplay is better than ESO it should be fine. I think the low impact character models of ESO make the rest of the game feel so bad just watching this video turns me off some.

Cuse of this video I jumped down the rabbit hole on this game. Looks like it could be fun. Like any system where you are free to make your own class by mixing and matching skills from different weapons. Allot of skills are useless and some are just too OP to ignore. Skills that should synergize with each other don't. But I still think it's worth a try. I bought a copy for both my wife and I. Pre-order gets you into beta on July 20th.

It's not Amazon. Amazon put up limited money for production rights. That ended up being egg in the face, so now it's an Amazon produced product being released on steam as is Lost Ark.

...and no, it is not a WOW killer in any sense of the word. WOW is a "type" of player now, not simply "players". Like those people who still play UO or those that still play DAOC. There is no "killer" for them short of product cancellation

It is being developed and produced by amazon games so how is that not an amazon game ?

I've played this game way back in alpha, pre-ordered when it was a free to play game and they're still honoring it. Played again last year in Beta. I like the changes they made and it has a lot of potential. One thing I really can't wrap my head around is that they have built a beautiful world and then have the worst character models I've seen in years. People, characters and NPC's all look hideous, and character creation is a choice of 6-8 heads and that's about as good as it gets. People were guessing it would change, but I see nothing different in these new videos. People have an attachment to their characters, it sucks when you are stuck with the exact look as everyone else

Deadly, inhospitable, unsettled lands, yet perfect roads lit up by fires and torches, newly build bridges, forts in perfect condition... How amusing :D

You just have to roll with that sort of thing, but yes it is silly. :)
