After delays that saw the launch of the alpha miss its end of May release, we finally know when the Kingdoms of Elyria alpha will be starting. Chronicles of Elyria developer Jeromy "Caspien" Walsh, the upcoming alpha will finally release next week on July 6th.

    This is a cross-post from the thread @kyleran created already:

    Just to be clear here...

    • On Feb 25 he said it should take around 2 months to complete his milestones 1 and 2.
    • Now he is starting an "Early Alpha" not to be confused with the "Pre-Alpha" he started on CoE 2 years ago, and this "Early Alpha" will start in July.
    • This "Early Alpha" will not include most of the contents of milestones 1 and 2 despite already being over 200% of the time he said it would take.
    • This "Pre Alpha" will last until he actually finishes milestones 1 and 2. Remember, this was supposed to take around 60 days. When the "Pre-Alpha" starts it will have been over 130 days.
    • So when he finishes his "Pre Alpha" he will literally be where he said he would be in April.

    Is anyone taking bets on how many more months this goes? Remember- His initial statement was 60ish days. Lets see who comes closest to how many it actually takes.

    My bet is 240 days. That would make him only have taken 400% of his estimate. Seems like that might be light, but honestly looking at what is in Milestone 1 and 2 its such basic stuff I am fully confident that he can at least spend $100 in the Unity store and buy the functionality if he can't get there himself. Oh I am sorry, if his "team" can't get there.

    When someone leaks this stuff to Kira it is going to be Epic with a capital E.

    You gotta give him credit for this magnificent piece of ass covering he's attempting, to try and get out of the legal action he's embroiled in.

    If only he had put as much effort into actually making the game in the first place.

    Do people still support this tool? The guy is obviously a complete liar and scammer. He's literally putting together some sort of barely playable junk heap to say to the courts that he made a game so that he can't be sued. Which is like throwing a rock at a train hoping to derail it.

    This guy is going to lose in court and he knows it. He's doing the only thing he can think of to possibly give him a snowballs chance in hell of winning in court. God I hope the judge is somewhat literate to the topic at hand.

    You can't start new milestones on a new idea,this is SUPPOSED to be COE not KOE.

    This dude is so full of BA and deceit it is not funny.
    He claimed COE was shut down then when a lawsuit arrives ,oh wait it is not shut down...BS.So ever since THAT claim that it is not shut down all we have heard over and over if KOE and NOT COE.
    So i feel he is yet again deceiving someone with this KOE and someone profiting from this and likely COE as well and most likely with government covid support.

    I can't imagine ANYONE outside of covid relief is giving this guy a single dollar.So I am very curious as to how he continues this cherade once his free funding/grant runs out.I am sure he already has his next plan in place,it will just be funny to see what the NEXT plan is.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    No worries there, I wouldn't buy it until "released" so odds are fairly high against it ever happening.

    Everyone talks about Walsh's attempts to avoid being c0rnh0led in court, but what about Xsolla? Isn't that company run by some shady people? No doubt he's under intense pressure by them to avoid litigation, lest he end up melting in a barrel of acid somewhere.
