And it does by the way
Honestly the only thing keeping me away from this game.
That and the character animations are uggg. I mean games like this or should i say "mmorpg?"'s like this, ones such as eso, swtor, ffxiv truly make wow shine even brighter tbh.
Hard content, very group focused to truly progress, comparatively ofc, and with boat loads of solo content for the solo'ist players, i know i was one forever until SL so yeah truck loads for solo players, decent pvp too? from what i hear i don't partake, and ofc brutally hard af content for insane people like myself.
Waiting for the wow bashers (blizz haters whatever) to come rushing in... yea that's so old, been there done that, was one myself for a solid decade plus, but my beef was wow destroyed EQ2, that was a f'ing MMORPG, top shelf shit, it's now after so much time has passed, wow stood their ground and didn't go overly stupid easy for the qq i want it now crowd.
I'm just giving credit where credit is due, if i loved EQ2 what are my "today" options for hard af content, longevity, a home in an mmorpg, right, thought so, none.
At least ESO with is instant everything, ability to move while you use, cast or channel any skill, skill use based on resource pools instead of cheesy cooldowns, ability to cancel anything at any time to block, dodge or anything else to actively defend yourself, makes it feel like you're in control and not rooted in place and committed to a decision you made 3 seconds ago... like in New World for example.
I'll take ESO combat warts and all, over WOW, Black Dessert, definitely over New World, or any other modern MMO I can think of any day of the week.
There are many other things about ESO that I dislike but combat isn't one of those for me and never has been.

Some people like fish on pizza too so this doesn't surprise me.
Battlegrounds are literally the worst thing in the game imo. Amazing how wildly different opinions can vary.
You and most others just make generic "combat sucks" comments when "combat" is a gigantic topic that has many elements with each one of them being potentially to your liking or not. "ESO combat sucks" is pretty meaningless without details.
But even better, I don't think I've ever seen an "ESO combat sucks" post with any details about which MMO combat the poster thinks doesn't suck and why he/she likes that particular combat and not ESO's.
So... what do you like on your pizza?

Sounds like he/she prefers dogshit on pizza.

The art and sound/music teams are seriously talented in this game. They do phenomenal work. It's a shame that ESO's problems overshadow their work.
DON'T play ESO if you like PvP. As a PvP player, I'm admittedly a little salty about this. ZOS has zero commitment to PvP and it shows. The performance is seriously atrocious during prime time hours. Lag and high ping are hallmarks of ESO's PvP during off-hours, but it can look like a slide show in prime time. The game mode has received very little updates over the years. Class and gear balance updates swing from pole to pole. Your build, while good today, will need to be completely remade by the next patch. While meta changes are common in MMOs, ESO's changes can effectively obliterate your build rather than it needing a few tweaks. Paid DLC classes are usually the strongest. But, let me say, *when it works*, ESO PvP is amazing. Unfortunately, I could not recommend it to my friends.
ESO refuses to separate PvP and PvE in terms of balancing. This has the effect of dividing the player base. If something is too OP in PvP, the balancing adjustments can detrimentally effect PvE, and vice versa. Although game forums are generally a cesspool of toxicity, the PvE and PvP communities turn on themselves at each patch, blaming the other for nerfs or buffs.
All that said, I still play the game. Partly because I'm an ES fan, through and through. Plus, I have many years and dollars invested in the game to simply walk away. I have taken month-long breaks, which have been helpful. But as I said, when it works, it's amazing.
That is an impressive first post! Well done!
