My prediction is this will go f2p in less than a year due to rapid population drop off in the first 6 months.

I don't think it will go F2P, even with the (expected in every game) population drop off, as the game has been operating as pay to play in China for the past few years and moving the EU/NA version to F2P would mean that the developers would need to support the (very healthy) chinese P2P version plus a different EU/NA F2P version, which I don't think they would do considering the move to F2P would be because of a dwindling EU/NA population and hence probably not worth the efforts.

    Just my opinion, of course.

It is more likely that it shuts down in the west, than goes F2P.

This is the next "big thing" for Gameforge. It will be heavy P2W, just like BDO, from where they learned about this "new business model".

IT'S GAMEFORGE! The B2P is nothing but a small step into the P2W.

It will be like "Aion Classic". P2P ( B2P ), Game Pass AND P2W Cash-Shop.

Whoever .. "Well, I will give them a try! Maybe they learned that P2W is bad!", deserve every bit of "I told you so!"

    We need an "eyeroll" reaction.

And as with every single SOLO article there's always at least one guy completely ignoring the fact that this game ran free from p2w in china for 3 years and therefore it is very unlikely to happen here in the west and thats coming from someone who doesn't leave out any opportunity to shit on p2w mechanics. But as with everything: feelings > facts

Of course they have to give out daily items, when I'm out camping for through the entire weekend of launch. :(

That's because it had a subscription, genius. If the game requires a subscription to access, then that's how they make their money. Think about how much money the game will make when it's just B2P. The lowest package costs 40 EUR to access the game. I don't know what the highest is, but at launch only the whales will buy that, after that nobody will buy it. People will buy the cheapest package and never buy anything again. If I was interested to play this game, I'd buy the 40 EUR package and never spend another dime on the game. I don't care one bit about skins, I find them ugly, tasteless and immersion-breaking so I never use them in games. Gameforge and the developer won't get anymore than 40 EUR from me. There will be many more players like that, eventually the game will start making some promotions, such as:

    - F2P weekend periods
    - Sales
    - etc.

The game can't sustain itself with just B2P and skins. I thought with so much failures over the past 5-6 years, people would learn, but to be as blind and deluded as you are, it's staggering.

Tons of bored and addicted gamers buying games they should have never bought is why we typically see population drop off.In other words DUMB people buying games influenced by hype, marketing and just simple plain impulse buying because the yare addicted to spending money on games.

Will this game go f2p,i say most certainly ,like 99% for certain.I also expect a much worse cash shop down the road which is why you NEVER accept a cash shop of ANY kind because it will always get worse.

    ..no! Facts > Facts.

I played Aion on their servers. Guess what? Massive P2W.

    https://gameforge.com/en-GB/mmorpg/

Every game from that page is P2W and I played only 2. How do I know? I have the sixth sense.

    Facts, not feelings, boy!

It will not become p2w cause gameforge does not have the right to put p2w into the game its all up to the developers and they have already told them no

"boy", "blind and deluded" well thanks for the "feelings" ;-)

Guys I have absolutely no sympathy with Gameforge, zero!

BUT it is a fact that this game has no p2w in china since 3 years.
Yes there is no sub but there will be a pure cosmetic battlepass and people are buying costumes like crazy (which are btw. not some stupid chicken outfits like in Phantasy Star Online 2 but instead lore fitting stuff), its like every second player has a shop outfit and/or mount equiped on EU server.

Of course there is a always slight chance that evil Gameforge might f... this up but for now I'll stick to the situation at hand and have lots of fun playing this non p2w game with some friends.

If Gameforge screws this up someday I'll just stop playing. I know, drastic but I'll survive.

been playing this and seriously there must of been a better game to bring to the west as its not even close to being as good as blackdesert or archage which even with there problems are better games to play in nearly every aspect. combat seems to be mediocre, cultivation theme is a good change from the normal fantasy setting though and no pay to win yet. i don,t regret buying as needed something new even if it only last a few weeks or so.
