200k at what 40 bucks? That would be 8 million, not nearly enough unless they put little effort/investment into the game which is quite probable OR they expect a large influx of cash shop money.

Well 8 million should be enough if took around 4 years at 500k a year but these studios have to pexecs and investors that want profits in the millions,so i am sure they expected closer to the 1 million mark as that would have net them 40 million minus whatever overhead they have and or business partners.

As to numbers....Is that ONE server?Typically from experience i have seen around 1/6th the total as playing. So if 15k that would equal about 90k not 200k.If there is still 200k active that means MANY are already not playing much as typically we see a mad rush in new releases where players play very long hours.

im pretty sure they made more off that cash shop already

200k is not bad. That is 199,994  more then Age of Conan. :)
While it's a good jab, also inaccurate...  (you know, apples and oranges)
200k ain't bad, except AoC did a million within the same window post-launch.

Let's wait a bit, and see if in 2034 they'll have more than AoC has now :)

Hard to guess how long it will last, the IP itself is only 11 years old, and Gameforge likes to shut down games (killed a bunch of them this year too).
Though, they like to keep eastern ones up, RoM, Elsword or Metin are all pretty old and still kicking.

On-topic, it seems a solid game. I'm not fan of the setting, so probably never will be among my main games, but I plan to give it a spin later, when the rush is over and the early bugs are fixed. Nice to hear the EU servers are smooth.
Had a few fun months with Wulin a couple years ago, I believe this one will be good for a few months too.

Like what? What do you do in the end game of SOLO? Genuinely curious as I don't know anything about its end game.

So you got many different forms of PvP with small arenas, big battlegrounds or a big faction vs faction map like Cyrodil in ESO.

then you have your standard dungeonstuff with normal and hardmode dungeons. hardmode having hidden bosses which are very challenging. Raids are supposed to come end of july. Btw. groups in SOLO can be 5 or up to 10 people. When you join a dungeon via groupfinder it's always a 10 people group with 1 tank, 2 healers and 7 DDs which makes queuetimes for DDs a lot faster then in other MMOs.

So far so standard, but then there is all the extra stuff like:
-bounty hunts where you fight some stronger foes (the are solo and group hunts)
-heroic quests which are like public quests
-'ghost lantern stuff' (don't remember the name) where you use some ghost lantern and enter a ghostworld where you are on the same map but in a dark parallel dimension hunting ghosts with other players
-A (not yet translated) cardgame that seems to be fun once you get how it works
-leisureland a zone with minigames like bomberman which are quite fun altought a bit immersionbreaking but it's a seperate world that you can ignore as with all other stuff. You choose what you want to do!
-fishing with fishing contests, usually I don't fish in MMOs but SOLOs fishing is quite fun and the fish is used for strong selfcrafted buff food

I'm sure I missed a lot of stuff but as a last thing I've got to mention the housing. I am not exagerating when I say that this is the most complex, best housing system I've seen since Wildstar. You could dedicate your whole playtime to housing only and not get bored for a long time, its crazy how good it is.

As a last thing (now really!) I'd like to mention the community as so far it seems to be a very good one, at least on EU1. Yesterday I've been in the last hardmode dungeon with a random group before the weekly reset. 10 people, non of them pros but also not complete noobs. As we got to the last boss we got shredded by him over and over again but what happened was something that I haven't experienced in a long time. People talked! Everyone was trying to find the right tactics, we exchanged, we adapted and more than 2 hours later we did it and everyone just lost it in the chat, it was amazing!

So far I'm having a blast in this game. Don't know how long this will last but even if it would be for just one month it would haven been worth the 39€

    Hope this helps a bit

Cool, now what are the concurrent user trends since launch? Anybody?

15-20k Players at peek. Thats solid. To put that into perspective Crowfall is about 3k at peek.
Since the 9th, Crowfall has sold about 5000 new accounts... I think that's even a better perspective as it sheds light on a Crowdfunding vulnerability.  If you pre-sell your game to your biggest fans years in advance, there's nobody left to buy it at launch

Honestly it's pretty okay, it feels generic but has been entertaining for the few hours I've tried it for so far. Not sure it's worth the entry price, but maybe later on it will feel like it is.
