is it true that the combat drastically changed since preview ?

i played the preview and i fell in love with the combat.   this type of combat in an mmo ? unimaginable and so much fun.

i read somewhere on reddit that they changed it and right now its like attacking air and see damage.      is it true ?
i REALLY dont want another 100% gear-dependent mmo.

The biggest gripes I'm reading is that they removed stagger from light and heavy attacks although it still exists for some skills.

Since you played the last preview then you know that "stagger-lock" was a thing especially from hatchets and it needed fixing but some think removing it from basic attacks went too far.

I guess we'll all find out tomorrow how the no-stagger light attacks feel now.

they way people describe,  its sounds like a bad version of ESO combat.

i dont see a future for a game that wont offer anything new.

Depends on which people are describing it.

I don't pay much attention to what people say if I can check it out for myself and make up my own mind.

The skilling is great and the sound team did an amazing job.

the problem is that 'skilling'  is not the most important part of an mmorpg.

every mmo has basic "pillars",  and always by far the most important one (mmorpg) is combat.
i will try new world but if all they got is great skilling system, i might pass it.
