If this game is mostly about pvp i will not play it...I think pvp totally sucks i prefer pve 10000% over any pvp game....there is always people who will find ways to cheat in pvp no matter what and they always like to play stealthy class's and just wait for...
After hearing this game is more towards pvp it's all ready turning me away...I am sick of world of Warcraft...ever quest and so on since i have played them for so long...But hearing that they at lest made it so you can turn pvp off is some what a blessing but i do hope they do add way more pve content....
I have seen some pvp games die out in a matter of months since the ppl who get ganked get sick of it and quit so the gankers have no one else left to gank... The game i have been waiting for is patheon rise of the fallen more or less but if i get board enough i guess i may try this...
Even if it only lasts I and my brother 30-60days lol
I was also interested in ashen of creations until i found out if was 100% open pvp i asked them to make some pve servers but at the time they said they did not plan to do that... So yes maybe new world may have a spot for me for 30-60 days or maybe not....But any game with open pvp i will not play since i hate to be ganked... I have played some open pvp games and i learned really quick ppl show up in raids to raid vs you and you have no chance.... Or your a noobie in a noobie zone and max lvls come and 1 shot you and 1 shot you so on and so on...
It just shows how terrible some ppl are in real life that they can ruin your gaming experiance with open pvp games...
No. The performance and lag is terrible. Playing Europe server was just as fast. The entire map was conquered by 3 clans. Newbs have little protection from high levelers. The beta leveling was crazy fast. People will riot if release progress is slow but give up after a month if top clan maxes out and takes all towns. Repeatedly reported issues were never addressed. The forums were overwhelmed with hate-mongers wanting full PvP loot drop to grief everyone. The PvE & questing was fun but ruined by PvP. Also the map is too small
I admit that the game looks fantastic. It pushes the boundaries of a game's look and sets a standard for future games. However, it's main focus (and maybe only focus) is PvP, so no, I will not play it.

Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
While I enjoyed the closed beta I will not be playing live. This has more to do with how mouse clicky the game is than anything else. I work with my hands all day long and after just a few hours over 4 days I found that my right forearm and wrist hurt so much That I ended up losing a few days of work to recover. I wish the game and those who do play lots of fun.
Time to discover the world of Idle games! you can run them all day at work and hardly have to do a thing.
Simply for the fact that the difference between Alpha and Beta was pretty good. They show they are willing to listen and make the changes. If this trend continues then I might.
Nope. As this game doesn't offer much to a PVE player i refunded on Steam and bought Lost Ark starting package (which i may refund as well after i'll have seen the game in some beta test).
I will play. Clocked 220h in beta. Had a lot of fun. Its got enough PvE of my kind. I dont like Raids so not complaining. And they have 6 of the dungeons datamined that are partially done
I got 52hr of game play into Beta but I thought I would try Swords of Legends Online before I committed to NW and Im having way more fun in SoLo. So I got a refund on NW. May revisit NW at a later time but I think SoLo will keep me busy till Corepunk comes out.
I had the opposite. I actually bought SOLO but refuned it for NW :P
And in a @Tim response, I come at this game from another angle (PvE'er with an occasional PvP jaunt... consensually). Dude, I completely get the "waaaay too long for a new AAA MMO launch" aspect.
But also... there is something vaguely familiar to the game. I don't normally like the action-y MMOs but this does appeal somehow. I spent FAR more time in beta than I had planned. (already planning to play at launch and didn't want to tempt burnout but yet still found myself doing some grinding... harvesting? wtf why am I grinding that??). And my lovely wife, who hasn't been tempted in a MMO in 7+ years, was absolutely beasting away. This despite the fact that I couldn't even get to her without multiple deaths until 12-ish. Hopefully, Amazon will take the delay as an opportunity to let you start with your friends and/or share quests. Anyways, I'm down with launch. Full disclosure: I pre-ordered in 2016 so was grandfathered in and don't have to pay a cent for the game. Secondary disclosure: my wife didn't listen and made me pay for her copy.

Reading this article was like reading my inner thoughts when it comes to the New World launch. SO uncanny, I am definitely playing at launch and so incredibly excited for it.
There's gorgeous dungeons with tricks and secrets(expeditions), fun looking armour sets, it is the first time I've enjoyed territory war type content in YEARS, the combat system is simple yet difficult to master, the crafting(AND FISHIIIING) is indepth yet not ridiculously convoluted, the environment visually gorgeous and ever changing and.. There's just something that's triggering all the good feels/times from ages ago but it's different and new.
I understand it's not a "finished" game. Nor should it be, that's one of the beauties of being apart of the launch of an MMORPG. You get to be there as it grows, as the content gets added you're there waiting and eager for it. Really, MMORPGs are never "finished" until they shut down (: .
Not this year at least, game lacks substance, fans can defending cuz they spent cash on it but games lack meat on its bones, so in a year or two i will give it a shot if it survives till then.

That's it in a nutshell. SSDD. Same. Stuff. Different. Day.

Combat is fun.
Harvesting/Crafting is fun. The way tracking works for certain resources as you level up skills works great.
Exploring is enjoyable.
World is beautiful and feels alive.
Sound is great.
The little lore nuggets laying around are enjoyable.
I appreciate the art design/vision.
Fishing is great.
Not being tied to a class is awesome and reminds me a bit of my initial MMO favorite (Asherons Call).
Weapon options are interesting. I didn’t even try them all but I found war hammer, spear, sword & shield, and bow particularly fun.
